A 1911 building that was lauded by Ladies' Home Journal for its innovative one-story architecture, back in the day. Today, visitors stay overnight in classrooms-turned-guestrooms (complete with original chalkboards), have a bite to eat in the old cafeteria (now our Courtyard Restaurant) and grab a drink in either the Honors Bar or the Detention Bar, depending on your mood. And that's just the beginning. We have several event spaces, both indoors and out, from which you can choose, accommodating up to 200 guests. It is a wedding venue unlike any other — and no one will be sent to the principal's office, we promise. (Just don't start a food fight at the reception.) Why plan your event with McMenamins? No additional room rental fee once the food and beverage minimum is reached. The food and beverage minimum includes wait staff and bartenders, indoor tables and chairs, china, flatware, glassware, and linens. Unique venue locations, for big and small events, inside and out. Your sales coordinator will assist in planning all venue details leading up to your event. Full onsite catering with accommodations for dietary restrictions. McMenamins handcrafted ales, wines and spirits which are only available at our locations.

The set up was perfect. The set up was perfect.
I was there for a wedding. The set up was perfect, the staff quickly transformed the exterior wedding area to a place to relax. The gym was converted into an elegant dining area. The buffet food was delicious. Of course the variety of alcohol was scrumptious. After dinner the staff cleared away the buffet area without us noticing--that's skill. The rest of the night was spent dancing, drinking, laughing and chatting in the wonderful environment McMenamins created.I was there for a wedding. It has such a lovely, fun feel. It has such a lovely, fun feel.
As a wedding photographer in Portland, finding venues that have the right balance of quirky plus PNW greenery can be a challenge but Kennedy School is SO great. There are so many nooks and side paths to use for photos and whether inside or outside, it has such a lovely, fun feel. And my heart will always be with good tater tots. A quirky, funky, fun venue! Built in 1915 and transformed in 1997. Unique meeting spaces, rooms, theater, event venue, bars, restaurant and soaking pool. You can walk to many restaurants, food pods, galleries, breweries. 15 minute to the airport! Attended a wedding and would recommend for family gatherings or corporate events.A quirky, funky, fun venue! Built in 1915 and transformed in 1997. Had a room reserved for the rehearsal dinner for my best friend's wedding. Food was delicious. Being in an old school made wandering around looking for our space very fun. Our classroom had the vintage feel of chalkboards and chandeliers, but a Bluetooth sound system to complete the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and quick to swap out empty trays. It was a wonderful way to end the evening. I also want to point out the location is a bit out of the way, which we loved.
