What is your most memorable wedding?
We had a groom who did a surprise dance for his new bride - He ended up taking most of his clothes off which was both hilarious and very memorable!!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, beautiful, graceful, soft & authentic.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm proud to be able to say that we absolutely put our heart and soul into every wedding that we do. We've done huge affairs with hundreds of people in big stately homes, and we've done much smaller more intimate ceremonies with only close friends and family in tiny tents in a field. We have no limits whatsoever, with such a huge range of weddings under our belt catering for so many different types of people and their own individual styles, we can comfortably say that we slot in anywhere.
No matter what type of wedding it is, we put just as much effort and care into both the filming and editing, staying as long as we are needed, and ensuring that the final edit is perfect for every client we have and that they are 100% satisfied with it before it is signed off.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Honestly, I've never been married so I've never planned a wedding before, but from a videographers perspective where I see a wedding pan out from start to finish, I would just say just a few things:
1. Every wedding schedule slips, so don't panic if you arrive a bit late to the ceremony or the speeches didn't start exactly when you thought they would. Every wedding supplier knows this and expects it most of the time too.
2. Don't create a list too long for family photos, or make sure that you at least have a comfortable amount of time in between the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Too often there are either too many photos to be taken or the timeframe is so slim that you don't get a chance to see half of your guests and thank them for coming until after the wedding breakfast. Get yourself a good photographer who has a nice candid style and you'll have plenty of natural shots of you with your family and friends anyway.
3. Go for a first dance song thats going to get people on the dance floor with you - something a bit more upbeat. Alternatively have two songs and speak to your band/DJ to get them cut down and blend together nicely. A slower more meaningful one for a few minutes moving into something with a bit of a beat to get all your guests on the dance floor. (We had a couple who did this and used 'Strangers in the Night - Frank Sinatra', moving into the 'Pina Colada song'. It was an absolute winner and the dance floor stayed full all night.)
4. If the weather/venue permit it, grab yourself some sparklers! We've had sparklers indoors, outdoors, in a circle, creating a walk way, and just waving around madly. They look great on camera and who doesn't love a sparkler!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Baby photos of the bride and groom, and embarrassing photos of the guests to use as place cards. So unique and I imagine is a great talking point if you're sat next to someone you don't know.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After you enquire, we'll email back confirming our package details, answering any questions you have and offering to have a phone call or meet in person for a coffee to discuss your day.
If it is something you wish to go ahead with, we send out our terms (which can be signed online) which outline our obligations to you. Once these are signed we send you the deposit details to make the £200 payment to secure the date. A checklist is sent to you from us to confirm timings, addresses and to give us a brief schedule of the day. Once we've filmed the wedding, we'll request some music from you to edit your feature film to and you can expect the videos in 3/4 months from this point.
Once you are happy with all of the videos, we can sign it off and send the USB and invoice to you in the post.
What is the most exciting thing you have caught on camera?
I did get very excited (probably too much) when Jack captured some really close up squirrels on a frosty wedding morning. They looked adorable.
Pets in general at weddings also excite me. I'm a huge dog lover!
I also get very excited about doing some droning at golden hour - the sunset is amazing and Jack also captures beautiful footage from the cameras on the ground. Nothing set up, we keep it totally natural and just let you walk around, have a hug and a kiss and do your own thing. It just comes out beautifully.
Describe how you got into videography.
I studied Television Production at University, and during a placement I worked for an Arabian production company editing weddings for brides in the Middle East. I worked there for a while after uni, and then filmed and edited my cousins weddings and things have grown from there.
