After searching high and low, we realised the perfect venue for our wedding reception was on our doorstep.
Shannon was great in the run up, especially as we visited a few times before the day to work out the finer details of how the afternoon/evening celebrations would go. We really appreciated the opportunity to taste a selection of the wines and canapés in advance so that we knew what to order on the day, Aarons knowledge of the wines was excellent and we really enjoyed that evening.
We chose the Trafalgar as it has a somewhat grand entrance for a pub (great front garden, walkway and lighting), with guests arriving en-masse we wanted to have somewhere nice that we could walk into and it certainly delivered. Having the whole of the upstairs with its own bar, dining area and toilets really helped. We used the bar to serve drinks and canapés before the doors were opened to the dining area. It worked really well afterwards as we moved guests back into the bar for cake cutting whilst the dining room was cleared to enable the musician to setup.
The food was amazing, the chefs did a great job especially to cater so well for 58 guests eating at the same time. Everyone has since commented on what a great job the chefs did rolling out large quantities of chicken and turbot for the mains!
All the staff were great from the kitchen to the waiting/bar staff. The room setup was brilliant especially with an early start on the Saturday morning for Shannon and the team to get it ready for our arrival.
