What is your most memorable wedding?
We created wedding stationery for an Indian wedding with an enchanted fairytale theme for over 500 guests - favour boxes, place settings, two (very large!) table plans and table names. It filled our studio before we sent it out and was fantastic to work on!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Unique, vintage, classic, charming and pretty.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the customer service that we provide as we always strive to make our couples as happy as humanly possible! We are a very friendly team, offering our expert creative advice and a very personalised approach to our designs. We are also perfectionists - a trait we are all proud of when working within the wedding industry!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't lose sight of what it is that you both want from your day. Ultimately a wedding is about celebrating your love for that person - I am an old romantic and believe it's the small details that are important which can capture your style without costing the earth!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
When I design a table plan for a couple, I always print a faint watermark in the background of the header which can be anything that means something to the couple. We've had song lyrics, literary quotes, names of oassed loved ones, film quotes - they all are individual to that couple and is a personal touch we love to add to make them smile on their wedding day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I generally receive most of my enquiries via email and am always keen to respond as soon as possible. I can either email or telephone the couple to discuss their enquiry and help with any questions they may have. I always provide detailed information about the kind of items I can create for them, offering design suggestions when people are unsure or not able to envisage what they would like. I also create samples of their stationery if it is something bespoke so they are happy with the design before they commit to ordering what they need. They can also make any changes that they would like and swap and change colours and design elements which I find is the most exciting part of creating something new for them and the beauty of working bespoke!
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
Your invitations (and Save the Dates if you decide to have these) will set the tone and style of your wedding and announce your special day so these are certainly important being the first thing your guests will receive. However, we think it's equally important to continue the theme and standard through to your on-the-day stationery with complimentary items such as place settings, table names and menus. A table plan can also be extremely useful if you have 500 guests as we have previously experienced!!
What is your best seller?
Our Pretty English and Vintage Travel stationery ranges are very popular, as is our Vintage Music range which is created with original, vintage sheet music - from as far back as the 1920's! Our hen party rosettes and sashes are also our best sellers for any brides looking for a classy hen party accessory.
What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?
I have had all kinds of delivery requests in the 7 years I have now been operating! I have drove 200 miles down the M1 to London from our studio in Derbyshire with a ginormous table plan for a bride with a very tight deadline and flew some delicate place settings and paper bouquets crafted from vintage music sheets all the way to Australia (sadly I didn't get to accompany those...!). I always try to go above and beyond for my customers and if I can help someone, I most definitely will.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
We put a lot of love and attention into every single item we make for our couples and are proud we have been chosen to represent them on their wedding day. Our Vintage Music range of stationery is created from original sheet music, some of which are inscribed with messages of love on the inside cover - we always love to give these to our couples who have ordered from this range so they can frame them or store away as a special memento!
