What is your most memorable wedding?
With over 1000 weddings to our name it's hard to choose! Highlights from 2019 include the succulent themed invitations for a couple who were engaged on a Californian beach, the many beautiful suites created with vellum and wax seals and, let's not forget, the super classic, stylish Game of Thrones wedding.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Elegant, quirky, typophile, colourful, bespoke
What about your business are you most proud of?
Surviving 15 years in the wedding business and continuing to grow, develop and produce new work, whilst always keeping our clients at the centre of everything we do
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Always remember why you are doing this - the most important thing is that you invite your most important people, to celebrate the two of you. It doesn't matter if the ribbon doesn't match the dresses!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Erm, we liked the Stormtroopers at the Star Wars wedding! And the couple who set a place for their pet pug at the top table...oh, and the couple whose dog was their best man!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Our clients generally visit the studio to check out what we do, discuss price and process etc. We would then schedule a consultation which takes an hour or so and gives us a chance to get to know each other and discuss design ideas. A small booking fee secures the date in our production schedule and allows us to produce a set of samples, from which the client chooses a design and places an order. We then produce proofs for approval and get to work on printing, assembling and handfinishing.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
I'd have to say the invitation. Without that, there's a chance it's just not going to happen!
What is your best seller?
Our pocket wedding invitation - incredibly versatile and very cute, we can produce this design in so many different boards, textures, prints, colours - it includes the invitation, an info sheet, reply card and pre-addressed reply envelope, as well as your postal envelope - of course - and all this for £6.95!
What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?
Obsessively comparing paper swatches, watching letterpress machines in action...but mostly it's seeing a job through from the initial spark of an idea come to light in a consultation, creating a custom design and producing a lovely big stack of invitations.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
By taking the time to talk to our couples, getting to know their story and wherever appropriate, including personal details in all their stationery items.... we become friends and I've lost count of how many receptions I've been invited to!
