What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is memorable but I love when a couple have a venue and style that is just right for them. Like the one where two guys had their ceremony in Mykonos where they met or the vintage one in a village hall and everything just came together and the one in a stately home where the couple wanted to show their Australian relatives some British traditions.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Warm, personal, professional, humorous, unique
What about your business are you most proud of?
That every ceremony is written especially for the couple and reflects who they are.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have a day that suits who you are not who others want you to be.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Beautiful bookmark orders of the day made by a bride’s mother.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
An initial chat by Skype or Facebook before booking to be sure we are right for each other. Then e mails until a few months before when we will meet in person or electronically for me to listen to their story in detail and agree content. I will liaise with others such as readers, prepare an order of ceremony with “stage directions” for those who need it and then deliver an amazing ceremony on the day leaving the couple with a certificate and various momentoes of the day.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A circus themed naming ceremony for a child. I was dressed as the ringmaster. Great fun.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Lots of listening, detailed preparation and ensuring that I arrive early enough to deal with any last minute hitches. If it would be helpful I also do a rehearsal.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The vows - when a couple makes promises to each other in front of their family and friends that they intend to last a lifetime.
