Your Ceremony sets the tone for your day and should be a memorable, happy and relaxed occasion for you and for your guests to feel an important part of. They are, of course your faves! Let me be there to guide you through, creating the ceremony that you want. It can be short and sweet or longer, entirely your choice and your choice also what and who you want to be included, although I always love a dog to be in on the action!. I will help with all the options regarding readings/poems, symbolic Gestures e.g. hand fasting (there's lots of them!) and if you want to write your own personal vows...I can assist, if required. In short...I want you to have fun and enjoy creating your Ceremony with me...so that on your Wedding day.....it's just perfect for you on your perfect day.

Hi, I am an experienced, qualified, Humanist Celebrant based in Ayrshire but travel throughout Scotland. I am authorised to conduct legal weddings and Elopements and all life events, including vow renewals and naming ceremonies. I love working with couples, individuals or groups, to create and compose the Ceremony that you want, reflects you and is right for you and for weddings I'll guide you through the legal requirements, as well as everything else involved, so you don't need to stress about a thing. And then, the really exciting part...I get to conduct your Ceremony on the day. Whether it be inside, outside, big or intimate. I can accommodate your needs no problem...and remember...you can be legally married absolutely any where in Scotland. Whether it's your front room, a traditional venue, or on top of a mountain or a beach {I've got wellies!) I'm definitely up for that. Personal, memorable and meaningful Ceremonies with a bit of humour, delivered in a relaxed and engaging manner. Let me create the perfect Ceremony for your perfect day. I'd love to!

Attentive and welcoming

My husband and I are quite introverted so we were a bit intimidated by the amount of attention we would be getting on our wedding day, but Maureen made the most stressful part - the ceremony - a breeze. She made sure to have multiple calls with us priory to the big day and asked us a lot of questions about how we met and what we think of each other to write a beautiful speech about us. She even put in a few words in Polish to honour my family who travelled from Poland for the wedding. Also we incorporated our take on a Polish tradition as I wanted to really embrace my roots, so she seamlessly adapted a unique celebration into our day. Another huge help was the fact that we met up in the venue about a week before the wedding to go over the ceremony structure and we practiced our handfasting. This was apparently greatly needed because we made a couple mistakes during the first try. All in all, we were extremely happy with how our wedding ceremony went and all of our guests were also very impressed by how cheerful, loving and unique it was.

Maureen was so personable and fun, kept great contact with us and set us at ease throughout. She made what can seem quite a difficult process so simple and easy flowing! We really appreciated all of her help. Our guests all commented on how amazing the service was and how great Maureen was. 5 Star Maureen was incredible from the first meeting. Communication was great and the meetings beforehand put us both at ease. Maureen captured our story perfectly and captured all of the emotions surrounding the day. We could not have asked for any one better..she was truly incredible.

If you know the supplier that you want...get them booked early to avoid being disappointed.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

It really fills my heart when loved ones that are no longer with us are remembered by a candle lighting. But one of my Brides, whose Dad had passed, put a little keepsake of his in her shoe, so that he could walk with her down the aisle. ❤️ a truly personal and beautiful thought.

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Don't stress about a thing, even though, rarely, sometimes situations will arise. Everyone is there to help you and you'll get it sorted...so don't panic. We're on your side.

What is your favourite moment at a wedding?

I just love seeing happy smiling faces, when I announce the couple to be Married. No money could buy that feeling.
