What is your most memorable wedding?
Jon and Amber's - we created a fabulous ceremony, fitted in two meetings and a rehearsal - all in two weeks!! And guess what - it was a wonderful day!!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, relaxed, warm, caring and personable !
What about your business are you most proud of?
The type of couples I attract and have worked with!!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make time for yourselves at some point during the day and share any last minute jobs with those closest to you!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Vows - writing your own vows, and keeping them a secret from each other, a fabulous surprise, I always make sure I tip off the photographer11
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The first thing to check is, am I free on your chosen date?
Fingers crossed it’s all good, so we can start on our journey together, so exciting!
I love to get to know my couples and where possible meet up for a coffee, cake and chat, it’s so important we get on and that you like and trust me with one of the most important days of your life!!
Of course, there is always Zoom and Whatsapp, if we are restricted as in recent times! I then pencil in your provisional date for 14 days, giving you time to make a decision, and that becomes ‘set in stone’ when you send ‘save your date’ deposit over!
I keep in touch and about six months before the big day I send over a questionnaire, so as I can get to know you better, from this I draft a script, including suggestions on poem’s, readings and music if you need them! The balance payment is due 28 days before the day, and you will receive your draft script just after this!
You can add, edit change this and we decide on a final version way before the big day! I also add last minute changes if required and sometimes ask that you keep your vows secret until the day, I love the element of surprise and so will your other half, it’s a really magical moment!
We will have met a few times by now, I love coffee and cake, and we will most definitely meet the day or week before the day for the ‘all important’ rehearsal.
On the day I always arrive early and set up my speaker if required, liaising with the music maestro and I also ensure your photographer knows my running order – we must make sure he captures those special moments, ring exchange, vows and most importantly that beautiful – you may kiss your bride/groom – moment!!
I hope I become more than just the person who conducts your wedding, I am in touch with all my couples, we have become such good friends on our journey together and I can’t wait to connect with you !
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Jon and Ambers last minute ceremony, they were going to ask a friend until Mum stepped in, and they were over the moon!!!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
I always form a fabulous relationship with all my couples, we get to know each other really well on our journey, so it is just like having your ceremony with an old friend - super relaxed - we always have a laugh, making the whole occasion filled with joy!
What do you love most about your job?
I love everything, meeting couples, creating their love story, sharing the love on the day and forming lifelong friends along the way! x
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The vows - especially when they are a surprise to each other - what a fabulous moment for everyone and especially your partner!!
