Award-winning Kook Events is run by experienced event planner, O’Dwyer. She coordinates weddings and parties across the UK, which is especially popular with those hosting their wedding in a marquee, tipi, barn or village hall (or anywhere without an in-house wedding coordinator!) You can be sure that no tiny detail will be overlooked in the handover process or on the day itself, leaving you free to relax, and enjoy your awesome wedding whilst make happy memories with your loved ones. All of the little details behind the scenes and managing your other suppliers on the day will be taken care of for you. Whether it be an edgy chic wedding at an industrial style venue, a quirky boho barn celebration or a festival style reception in a tipi in the garden of your family home, you can be sure your wedding will be fun, relaxed, and memorable for all the right reasons!

Everybody is unique, and I love working on weddings which truly celebrate and capture the couple's personality and unique style. I've worked in the events industry for over 8 years, and also spent over two years as a stylist in the fashion industry. In my spare time my interests include city breaks, good coffee and interior design!

Seriously, everyone needs an April
We hired April at Kook Events to be our wedding co-ordinator. Honestly, our day wouldn’t have been the same without her. April also brought an assistant who helped so much as well. We owe the smooth running of the whole wedding to April – she is so organised, put me and Jonny at ease, she knew our wedding inside out and she took care of everything on the day and in the days leading up to the wedding. Seriously, everyone needs an April at their “DIY” wedding!!

I would not hesitate to recommend her
April is simply amazing! We hired a village hall for our wedding and wanted the peace of mind that on the day everything would be looked after so we hired April for on the day coordination and I'm so glad we did. From setting out garden games (and rushing them back inside when it rained!), coordinating with all our other suppliers, helping setup the venue for the evening and even creating a little unplanned but much appreciated snug upstairs for guests, she made sure every bit of our do went perfectly and meant we could just relax and enjoy. Add to that great communication and help in the run-up to the day and generally just being so friendly and professional, I would not hesitate to recommend her. Thank you April so much xxx

A big, BIG shout out to April of Kook Wedding Planning for coordinating the wedding celebrations. April made sure everything ran like clockwork on the day. We cannot recommend wedding planners enough for this type of wedding. They help so much with the setting up, helping suppliers and in general making sure you have a bloody great wedding

On the ball and understood exactly what we needed
We recently hired April to coordinate our homecoming wedding party. From start to finish she was on the ball and understood exactly what we needed. Importantly for both of us, we didn’t have any involvement on the day of the party (because April just got on and dealt with it all) and were able to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about whether the band were on time or if everyone was being fed etc. I highly recommend April and will definitely work with her again in future.

You made the day so stress free and perfect
Couldn't recommend April any more, from the first time we met to run through our big plans for the day you were totally on board with ensuring it went perfectly! On the day April and Emily were amazing, so helpful to everyone - even helping one of my Aunties find flip flops when her shoes were rubbing. I am unsure if there were any hiccups at all on the day because it just ran perfectly - you made the day so stress free and perfect. Everything was perfect. April was just amazing - even getting stuck in dancing with the sparklers!! Thank you again so much :)

What is your most memorable wedding?

There's been a few (all memorable for the right reasons)! I love it when couples do something really personal and meaningful to them, that they enjoy - whether that be giving their wedding a festival theme or having a menu centred around mexican food, things like that make it totally unique!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Do it your way! If a tradition doesn't feel right to you… scrap it!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I had a German bride who incorporated the "kidnapping of the bride" tradition - it was so much fun seeing it, and her husband and bridal party fully getting on board with it!

What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?

I had a bride who asked me to surprise her groom with a wedding crasher... his favourite animal, donkeys! His face was amazing when he saw them!

What is your favourite moment at a wedding?

There are so many. I do always have a little tear in my eyes during the ceremony, but I think the most magical moment for me is just before the guests turn up, where there's the electric feeling of anticipation in the air, the suppliers are ready to go, and the venue is looking perfect for everyone's arrival!
