No two love stories are the same and so every ceremony should be as unique as the two of you. Perhaps you'd like to have a handfasting, a sand blending ceremony, to jump the broom or light candles with family and friends? Maybe you'd like a ceremony which is traditional and time honoured? It all begins with your ideas and then together we will create your perfect ceremony. If you're not sure what you would like, I can help. I have lots of ideas for vows, music, poetry and readings - being creative is a big part of the job! As a teacher of Drama and Theatre for over 30 years, I have lots of writing and public speaking experience. I really understand the ways in which the spoken word and visual imagery work together to make memories. My aim is to listen to your love story and create a beautiful, bespoke ceremony which blending words and symbolic actions,  poetry, readings and music to make this the best day of your lives....so far! I'm very happy to work anywhere in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, or further afield if requested! What is your most memorable wedding?

A Harry Potter themed one with a spiral aisle on a beautiful Peak District farm. The groom was incredibly talented and made an extraordinary replica of Dumbledore's lectern from Hogwarts. You can see a picture of it in my gallery!

Making this wonderful day even more special by creating a ceremony which really celebrates the couple's love story - and the testimonials and feedback I receive!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Always have a plan 'B' if you're hoping to be outdoors.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The couple drinking from an Indian wedding cup passed on by the bride's grandmother

Describe your typical process with a couple.

An initial free, no obligation meeting in person or via Skype or Zoom. A 2-3 hour planning meeting to help me write your love story and structure your ideas. Any further emails, Skype/Zoom and telephone calls we need to make sure the script is exactly right. My attendance at your wedding rehearsal/run through. Being there on the day at least an hour before the ceremony to liaise with the venue staff, family, couple, musicians, photographer and absorb the feel of the venue. Conducting your ceremony on the day. Leaving you with a keepsake presentation copy of your script. Sending a first wedding anniversary card!

What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?

A wedding on an allotment

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Continuous communication - always being there for questions, reassurance, rehearsals and last minute changes.

What do you love most about your job?

Do what will make you both happy and celebrate your love your way.

What is your favourite moment at a wedding?

The moment the couple see each other for the first time on the day - and the anticipation of all that is to come in the next few minutes, hours and years. It's absolutely joyous.
