What is your most memorable wedding?
I try to make each one memorable!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
relaxed, romantic, personal, documentary, informal
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm proud that I helped people feel good about themselves and enjoy being in front of the camera, even if they thought they would be uncomfortable with it.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Pick people who don't stress you out! Everything goes better when you're enjoying the experience.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Most of the weddings I have shot were full of personal touches, so it's hard to pick one!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It's great if I can meet the couple before the wedding, I think it really helps people to be more relaxed around me on the day.
Often that's not possible - and I just do my best to first and foremost make people feel relaxed and at ease.
I want the couples to feel good on their wedding day and I think that's a solid foundation for getting some really good photos.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Some kind of relaxed photo of the two people having a moment of peace and quiet together on what's often a loud, busy day.
Often that's the first chance to relax and fully feel the joy of the special day - and it makes for great photos.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Usually something funny that may or may not have something to do with people wearing kilts.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Wear something comfortable, grab an umbrella and embrace what could be an amazing opportunity!
Rainy photos can be absolutely amazing - as long as you feel comfortable being outside.
You really don't have to get soaked to get some beautiful pictures - I may have to, but that's part of my job that I don't mind.
Otherwise, if going outside feels uncomfortable... get cosy indoors and enjoy it!
I took a lot of cool photos of people being indoors through a rainy window from the outside.
They can be really special!
Also - if it rains, it's probably overcast and the light is pretty special for portraits!
Describe how you got into photography.
Working for a tourism magazine, then photographing live music for many years.
