The most memorable weddings are usually the ones where something unexpected happens. A few years ago I was waiting for the bride and bridesmaids to arrive. The bride turned up with her Father, but the bridesmaids were no where to be seen. The registrars were itching to start the ceremony, but still no bridesmaids so the bride was getting very concerned. Suddenly a dirty old clapped out car screeched to a halt and the bridesmaids leapt out with big grins on their faces. Their vintage car had broken down but they managed to hitch a lift with a complete stranger. Tears turned very quickly to laughter and it will always be a great story for the couple to tell.

Plan!! No really, I know that is obvious, but everyone will have already told you that your day will go really quickly. Thinking about the photographs you want, (candid, fun, groups, posed, fashion style etc) will help me to ensure you will not only get the pictures you want, but that they are taken quickly and efficiently on the day. Your pre-wedding consultation will help with this and many other elements of the day.

A few weeks before the wedding we discuss your day in detail, the timings, the photographs you'd like, where and when we're going to take them, what we'll do if it the weather is against us. The meeting is an opportunity to tell me your ideas and I'll offer help and advice that will help your day go smoothly. The pre-wedding meeting can be in person, via Skype or by phone. Your photographs will be available to view on a private online gallery around 2 weeks after the wedding. From here you can download your photographs in high resolution. You also will receive a separate password to your guests so that you can choose to hide some photographs if you wish. If you would like an album, we discuss the various options such as the size, cover material, design style. You receive a proof of the design before it goes to be printed. As albums are individually designed and hand made they usually take around 4-8 weeks to be produced.

The main thing is not to worry about it, if you're relaxed and enjoying your day, you'll still get great photographs despite the weather. If the weather's exceptionally bad, there are plenty of alternatives to having photographs taken outside. Those alternatives will depend on the venue and will be discussed at your pr-wedding meeting. I was married in the middle of August, it was really cold and poured down all day, it was still easily the best day of my life!
