The Jolly Photographer 📷 Beautiful & Timeless Full Description
I am proud to call myself a wedding photographer. I LOVE it! It gives me such a great sense of satisfaction knowing that I’m making something meaningful and lasting for all of the the couples I photograph. My work is a pleasure. My office is venues all over the UK and internationally, joining a day of celebration where everyone is happy and supportive. I can’t express how grateful I am for that. Not only that, my clients become my friends and I return that generosity by doing my utmost to support them on the most important day of their lives together 🙂 Looking through a viewfinder for me is a way of expressing who I am. I trained and worked as a graphic designer and I’ve been painting and drawing my whole life, but photography enables me to express myself artistically in a form that nearly everyone can relate to. Photographing is more to me than just picturing the objects or people that are the subjects of my images; it’s about trying to tell the story of the people or the place, about getting the viewer to have an emotional connection with the image. Photography gets me out of bed in the morning, it drives me all around the country and abroad and it lets me share my passion with my clients.

Best Wedding Photographer Ever
An absolute pleasure to have Jeremy photograph our wedding! He was somehow invisible and yet captured every detail. Jeremy goes above and beyond for the perfect shot, and the results are simply stunning. Can't thank Jeremy enough for capturing every moment of our wedding day.

This man may be the best decision we made
This man may of been the best decision (other than saying I do) that we made for our wedding day. My husband and I are not only going to get amazing photography but we feel we have also gained a friend! Thank you again so much. We will recommend you forever! Love Mr and Mrs Black. X

He is such a down to earth kind-hearted person
We had the absolute pleasure of having Jeremy as our photographer for our wedding. He was not only an absolutely talented photographer who managed to capture the most stunning photos and emotions from the day, but he is such a down to earth kind-hearted person which was a big part of us having him as our photographer. We are so glad to have had him be part of our day and will definitely use Jeremy for more milestones in the future!

I've just been weeping watching the photofilm!
Hi Jeremy, I just wanted to say thanks so much for the lovely job you did at the wedding. The photos are fantastic and really capture the love felt on the day. I have just been sitting weeping watching the photo film! It really means the world to them to have such a great way to remember the day. Thanks again- you are great! All the best, Kate (Rest in peace Mark. You are greatly missed - Jeremy)

The result was beautifully real photos
From start to finish, we felt that Jeremy knew what we wanted. We looked at many different photographers in the run up to the wedding to decide and every one of his photos we liked. His initial meeting was more to get to know us than anything else. He was very organised and clearly knows the wedding process and how to get the most out of the day. He also provided a great insight into the day whilst we were planning it. Jeremy felt like a guest in our wedding – rather than a photographer – and fitted in perfectly with our guests. He was a pleasure to have participate. One of the biggest thanks that we can have is that he didn’t “interrupt” the wedding at any point. There was never a moment where we needed to retake a shot or pose for a photo. Jeremy just operated in the background and took the real moments of the wedding. The result was beautifully real photos – our wedding is documented from start to finish. The photos that we have got are of the real laughter, the real moments, the real emotion of the day. These photos will provide us with tangible memories and we will be forever grateful that he captured such emotion in our wedding archive.

We can’t thank you enough Jeremy!
We met Jeremy after going to a wedding fayre by accident when checking out potential venues. The venue wasn’t for us but we knew immediately that he was the one to document our wedding; he was friendly, engaging and we felt very relaxed in his company. All meetings and we had with him were similarly relaxed and he dealt easily with the “we’ve not got a clue what we want” which was a familiar theme to our wedding planning. On the day he was amazing and fitted seamlessly into the preparations and even came to the rescue with safety pins to sort out the mother of the bride’s outfit. So many guests commented on how lovely he was assumed that he was a friend of the family. Towards the end of the evening he was implored by many to stay and party with us but sadly he had to go home. When we returned from honeymoon he came to the house to show us the photos and they were more amazing than we’d imagined. The mood of the wedding had been captured perfectly – from the ceremony when we were fighting back tears to the speeches where the whole top table had their heads thrown back in laughter. The video montage has been watched over and over again and puts us right back there in the moment. We can’t thank you enough Jeremy!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Gosh that's hard to separate out one. I think I can remember every wedding I've photographed like it was yesterday. There have been so many wonderful occasions at such a variety of wonderful locations. There's not one I didn't love :) From the simplest to the most glamorous affairs they are made by the wonderful couples, friends and families that have been kind enough to invite me into their day.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Honest, memorable, emotional, storytelling, caring

What about your business are you most proud of?

I think it has to be the wonderful feedback I receive from my clients. I am humbled by the responses I receive and am so grateful that each of them has chosen me to record their day.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Know that everything will be OK no matter what happens :) All of your planning, designing, calls, meetings, dress fittings, spreadsheets and so much more will come together on the day and it will be great. Trust me - I have attended weddings that were hit by gales and torrential rain, where the car broke down on the way to the church, where wine was spilled all over the dress ... the tears and upset are fleeting because you are surrounded by those that love you and all problems are fixed. (I've even been known to grab a mop and clear glass from the dance floor!) My no.2 tip is ... Ask your photographer for advice! Us photographers spend more time at weddings than any other supplier and we know them inside out :)

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A beautiful memorial to a lost brother, placed so that he could be present on his big sister's special day.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Video calls and telephone calls to get to know each other and if there's a fit then we meet up in person where ever possible. I always have a venue visit with the couple to walk through the day, give any advice they want and finalise our plans. I keep in touch leading up to the day and I usually start my day (having set up any lighting needed at the venue first) with the bride or one of the couple while they get ready while my assistant is with the other half :) I am with the wedding then throughout the day. I normally take a short break during the wedding breakfast and grab a bite to eat. I stay into the night and have great fun getting into the middle of the dance floor and when my feet can't take any more I call it a day having said my goodbye's to everyone. About 4 weeks after the wedding I pay a visit to the couple and we watch the photofilm I've produced and go through the rest of the pics. Afterwards I share the online version of the photofilm and gallery of images to share with friends and relatives. There's no hard sell from me btw. If you want albums and prints then I'm happy to accommodate but there's no pressure to have them. After that I am always glad to hear how their lives are shaping and evolving together. Sometimes I later get to photograph them as a family too!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The one that makes you warm inside when you look at it. The formal portraits are put on desks or parent's mantel pieces, but the candid moments between a couple are often the ones that end up in a wallet, on a phone background or on a bedside cabinet :)

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Proof that Scots wear nothing under their kilts ... that one didn't make the wedding album 🤣

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

They're great! Everyone comes together and the atmosphere is brilliant. We'll have a plan B for taking any formal photos indoors.

Describe how you got into photography.

I was 9 and my school had a brilliant teacher called Mr Wilkinson who ran a photography club and encouraged me to join. My dad had been a keen enthusiast photographer and supported my keen interest and also bought me my first 'proper' camera. My folks also allowed me to convert a room into a permanent darkroom. I carried on developing (excuse the pun) my photographic skills eventually taking my first paid job in 1994 and I've never looked back :)
