Our wedding album is gorgeous and truly exceeded our expectations, we would have no hesitation in recommending Steve to anyone who ever tells us they are getting married. I am also sure we will be in touch in the future to have some “family shoots” done. Thank you for our Happy Memories Forever.

Steve is a fantastic wedding photographer, and we
Steve is a fantastic wedding photographer, and we were thrilled with our photographs. We have such a lovely arrangement of formal and repertoire shots of our day. We specifically asked him to cover our wedding because we wanted an upbeat photographer, with lots of character who could handle the guests and get them where we needed them to be, as this is often the most difficult part! He is also very laid back and without you noticing he gets the shots that you hope he will. We were also really amazed at how quickly he turned the images around. We would highly recommend Ketch 22.

We honestly couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos, in fact I think I shed a few tears! – they are all fantastic; Steve is obviously a very, very talented photographer and knows exactly what he’s doing! I highly recommend him to everyone – as well as his distinguished photography skills, he is a really nice bloke and makes everyone feel at ease – a lot of them were taken without other people knowing which has produced some charismatic and natural looking photos; he also covered all of the formal shots that you would expect from a wedding photographer. How he managed to take them all by himself without any other help is beyond me! Thank you Steve x

Steve is a master!
Steve is a master! My wife and I almost didn’t hire a photographer as we both had a negative view of the style of soft images and fake setup shots usual with weddings. We couldn’t have been more wrong. Steve with his fantastic sense of humor put everyone at ease with the camera – and the images? Steve managed to capture still moments of jovial perfection. As a husband and bride it was images of our favourite people and family members all together that we cared most about and these couldn’t have been more beautifully captured…and in the middle of a cheese carving competition (don’t ask). From my wife and I, Steve we salute you.

We cannot recommend Steve highly enough, he gave
Steve Catcheside covered our wedding last year, he did a superb job from start to finish. He provided excellent value for a seriously professional service and the highest quality photos. Steve delivered everything we wanted – relaxed, spontaneous and beautiful photos of ourselves and our guests. Steve included a pre-wedding shoot which helped us get used to the camera and provided a great photo for all of our guests to sign on the wedding day, he also came to our home a few weeks after the wedding and set up a super slide show that gave us plenty of time to choose which of our images we wanted to go into the album. We cannot recommend Steve highly enough, he gave us amazing photos and our guests hardly noticed he was there on the day!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

I love covering all weddings, no matter where they are, but probably the wedding that sticks most in the mind is a wedding I covered on the Amalfi coast in Italy. It's just a truly spectacular location!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, relaxed, fun, creative, unique

What about your business are you most proud of?

Over the years I've covered hundreds of weddings, but I never tire of them. Each wedding is very different with different personalities and characters. What I'm most proud of is giving so much pleasure to the couples who enjoy my photographs after the wedding.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Obviously I'm biased but I think the most important part of any wedding is the photography. After all the flowers have wilted and the cake has been eaten, all you are left with are the photographs. So it pays to do your research and get the photographer you really want.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Probably the best thing at any wedding is when the couple really get into the day, enjoying every moment.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

After the enquiry, I set up an initial consultation, either in person over the phone or on skype. On the big day, I usually cover the wedding from the preparations right through to the first dance and beyond. I go about the day recording the events as they happen. I don't dictate I go about capturing the moments using the light, composition and timing to get the best possible images. Basically the more fun the couple have the better the images will be. That said most couples do like to have a few family and wedding party photos and I'm happy to do those.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Simply capturing a moment of pure joy

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I don't generally get asked to take a specific photo as you can't beat an image that happens naturally.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Rain doesn't have to ruin a wedding, in fact, I see it as just another photo opportunity. It's a great excuse to break out the umbrellas and the wellies!

Describe how you got into photography.

I started off as an art student and photography was part of my course. After college, I got a job as a junior sports photographer for a racing car magazine and newspaper in London. After that, I spent 10 years as a cruise ship photographer travelling the World. Finally, in 1999 I set up my own documentary wedding photography business and the business is still going strong to this day.
