RELM Photography Full Description
If you would describe yourself as easy going, passionate but a little camera-shy and you're after lots of romantic wedding photographs you can be proud of, however you're also a little awkward and the only photos you have with your partner are selfies... I don't mean to brag but you should probably book with me...
I've seen it all and experienced it first hand too... I've of course attended countless weddings as a guest, shot my first wedding in 2011, I was a bridesmaid in 2013 and I became a bride in February 2017. Seeing a wedding from all these different angles definitely gives me a bit of an edge when it comes to being a wedding photographer. Lot's of people experience wedding jitters, not about their partner but about all the attention they are going to get for the entire day (God knows I did). From the start of the day until the end I make sure you know you're in safe hands!
A successful wedding starts with knowing what to expect - I will let you know how to realistically plan for your special day by using timelines which include tips for you and your bridal party like: Practicing your first kiss, ensuring bridesmaids/ groomsmen do not rush down the aisle and that there is a good space between them. Also my style is documentary so there's no need to look at me during the day other than when I am posing you for your group and private photos - I want you to be present and in the moment for your special day
Everyone deserves to have images of themselves they can be proud of, no matter how introverted, nervous or awkward they have convinced themselves they are. I love to work my charm and bring people out of their shells so that they are truly happy with their photo memories!

If there's one thing I've heard A LOT over the years it's that I make my couples feel comfortable and confident while being photographed. All start off saying, "I'm not photogenic" and by the end of the day, they are posing themselves or have forgotten I'm even there and posing like models!

What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was in 2018 with bride Clara and groom Lee. Initially they reached out to me after deciding to elope and said they really liked my style. This was going to be my elopement wedding.
Clara, a girl from America fell over heels in love with Lee, a boy from Manchester and not too long moved in together in London. They couldn't keep all the excitement to themselves and in the end had Lee's parents at their wedding as well as Clara's mum and sister who flew in from the US!
I was honoured to document their special day, a hot summers day at Hackney Town Hall followed by some fun photos at Tower Bridge!
They went on after to have their wedding breakfast the The Big Easy restaurant after photos were finished and although I only spent a few hours with them the impression they left on me was huge!
The emotion during their ceremony while they spoke their vows to one another was enough to send a tear down my eye. The silly poses and laughter they had after exiting the town hall was second to none and the boldness of kissing with confidence in front of hundreds strangers on the famous Tower Bridge was just simply breathtaking!

What about your business are you most proud of?
It may sound cliché but I am so proud of the photos I take that I know will be posted online for friends, hung on living room walls and treasured by current and future family members for years to come.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My number tip for couples planning their weddings is to have a timeline/ schedule for their wedding day. This will help to see how the wedding should flow for the day. Also make a separate one for your bridal party from wake up to make up, breakfast to exit etc. This will help keep everyone on schedule in the morning so you're not late to your ceremony.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A bride and groom weren't particularly into cake and so they opted to have a Krispy Kreme doughnut tower instead!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I don't want to just show up and take your photos after having all the details for your wedding. I also want to know your backstory, your love story. How did you meet? How was the proposal etc. It's also important I guide you realistically through the day by helping you with your wedding timeline and tips and tricks for you and also your bridal party.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Detailed ring shot - I have a signature pose!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A couple requested we take some photos of them with pumpkins over their heads - This was something new for me and a lot of fun!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
It is Britain after all, so always think about the location for photos if there should be a bit of drizzle. Also big clear umbrellas! Just because it's raining doesn't mean you can't have romantic photos - who doesn't love kisses in the rain?
Describe how you got into photography.
I first became exposed to the world of photography in 2007, while studying media production in college. After 3 years, I finished my higher education and stepped out into the big wide world where I would gain experience within portrait, fashion, music, dance, product and wedding photography. I finally honed in on the specific areas of photography I have a natural talent and passion for under the name RELM Photography.
I got married in 2017 and obtained an even deeper appreciation and respect for wedding photography once I received my own photos, which has really been a great help within my business!
