What is your most memorable wedding?
A friends wedding in Oban. Everyone stayed together filling all the B&Bs in town and extending the whole event to being not just the day itself. Put that together with a stunning backdrop for a truly memorable day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Clean, sharp, uncluttered, emotion-capturing and story-telling.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The delight my images bring to people. I get the shot people didn't know happened or something that is so spur of the moment it needed to be caught.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Think about what you want from a photographer. I have had photos taken of me where the character of the photographers have been real issues and these show in the photos. Although the photographer mayb only be there for a hat time they must be your friend and you get along.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Presents for each (and every) child guest, each different, and each exactly what they wanted!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Well, firstly we definitely meet before the day. I want to get to know you and your family through you. What photos do you want taking and when, what special things do you have planned what are your must haves from the day. To you it may sound obvious and you may say, the same as everyone else, but everyone is actually different. Just ask what each family does at Xmas to see what I mean!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The couple together, but with expressions and eyes that really say 'I love you'
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
The people are always the stars of the show, and on a rainy day we concentrate on them. A stunning venue always helps of course, but it is just the backdrop to the main stars. I have a full studio lighting setup so we can find somewhere indoors to get formal photos, or we can use some umbrellas to brave the outside and add some atmosphere from the rain. Of course it depends how muddy it is!
Describe how you got into photography.
I have taken photos since I was 11 when my grandparents bought me a compact 110 camera. I won third place in a local show with that camera!
