Lyndsey Challis Photography Full Description
Attractive, strong and vibrant portraits of the people making up your day alongside artistic detail images of the surroundings and elements all contribute to the story. I love everything about weddings but by getting to know you, and your family and friends, means I can tell the correct story in the first place. Weddings are my life and I'm totally dedicated to making sure your day gets captured in a way you'll look back at and smile. One of the main differences is that I often stay until well into the evening (not just until the first dance) and I provide a proof book for you to flick through all the finished images and show friends and family.

Captured the most magical moments
We knew Lyndsey would fit into our day perfectly. She arrived at 10am and she was still on the dance floor well into the evening snapping away. She captured the most magical moments!

Made us feel so relaxed and at ease
Lyndsey made us feel so relaxed and at ease. Without her I would not have been ready to walk down the aisle - she did the buttons on my dress, helped put on my necklace and veil ... all while making sure she took lots of pictures.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Strangely one of the most memorable was one where quite a few things went wrong - everything from the groom being on crutches, to the bus transporting all the guests breaking down. Some couples would have called this a disaster but actually it turned out to be the best day and the couple are still very happily married years later.

What about your business are you most proud of?

Weddings are never boring – no matter how many I go to. I love meeting so many people, the challenge of trying something different for every couple, getting the best from venues and even working in all weather conditions! I’ve learnt to lace up dresses, tie cravats and I know how to pin buttonholes so no one gets stabbed. It’s all part of the job.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

I think it’s really important that you get on with your photographer. They’ll be around for hours and if you can relax with them then you won’t feel like you’ve been trailed by the paparazzi all day. Also don’t be afraid to tell them what type and style of photos you are looking for, as they should be able to tailor their style to your requests.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A bride and groom who'd learnt to play with a steel band as a surprise for all the guests, but I also loved one wedding where the couple had arranged for everyone to have a tango lesson whilst we were off taking photos.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I like to know lots about the wedding, from who's who and the names of family and friends, through to the colour-scheme so I don't turn up wearing something that clashes!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

If it's possible, then the 'all guest' group shot. Having a record of everyone who attended and celebrated with you is a great memory.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

I always scope out indoor photo locations for all my weddings so it doesn't bother me if the weather doesn't comply. Even then I always have a huge supply of brollies in the car, even some wellies and if a couple are happy to brave the drizzle then go for it!

Describe how you got into photography.

One of my earliest memories is being amazed by my grandparents’ new Polaroid camera but I didn’t really start taking photos properly until university where I had access to a darkroom. After graduation my job as a graphic designer meant that I got to go on photoshoots and shadow professional photographers until I started to take over!
