Lemon Feather Photography Full Description
I capture memories and create family legacies through my camera lens and my passion is to tell your story with sincerity and authenticity. I'm also a great believer in printing images so that we have them to pass on to future generations.
In my house you'll find magnets, canvasses, frames and books of moments in my family that I want to remember forever and pass on to my son. So I encourage my couples and families to do this too after each shoot, and I include a print package with every collection. I'm not just there at your wedding to work, I'm there to help you breathe, enjoy every moment, and capture the moments that make your day memorable. Most weddings follow a standard format through the day so for me I capture not only those events but also the moments in between that make it your wedding day and unique to you. My mantra is to "Shoot How it Feels" not just how it looks, so I capture the emotion of the minutes.

What is your most memorable wedding?

Still going through a pandemic and helping my couples celebrate their magic!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
After a venue the photographer is the most expensive usually, however, it's an important choice no matter the cost as, besides the marriage, the photos are the only thing that will last from the day! Make sure you view a full day album to see a photographers all day style and that it's consistent with their highlight images.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Oh there's so many, but I love little memory things for people that have passed like a small photo hidden on a bouquet. At a few weddings last year the couples used the photos I did at their engagement session as centre pieces for the tables and table plan which I loved!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Coffee and cake meeting, or zoom, which is better for the couple. We have a chat about their ideal day. They have the option to have an engagement session with me too at no charge to see how I work and if we get on. If they invite me to be their photographer then we keep in touch over WhatsApp, email or Facebook, then 2 months before their wedding we have a big meeting to talk about the timeline and photos of the day. After the wedding I send sneak peeks the night of or day after the wedding, full gallery within a few weeks, and a little gift in the post with their prints once ready.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The big group photo...many people don't like having their photo taken so they'll avoid the camera for individual pics unless I catch them candidly, whereas in the big group photo you get everyone in one photo who was there on your big day, which in 20 years time when you look back, will be the most precious photo of the day!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
An owl delivering the rings!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Beautiful umbrellas and to embrace the day. You can get some stunning pictures in the rain or next to puddles or with umbrellas.
Describe how you got into photography.
It's what I was born to do so I don't think I "got into it", it just happened! For my 21st birthday I asked for money and bought myself my first film camera...and 20 something years later here I am. I haven't always done it full time like I am now, however, I've always done it in some capacity. Going full time was the best decision and it makes my soul sing.
