What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My number one wedding planning tip for couples is to stay true to yourselves and your unique vision for the wedding day. It's easy to get caught up in trends, societal expectations, or pressure from others, but remember that your wedding is a reflection of your love story and should feel authentic to who you are as a couple.
By staying true to yourselves, your wedding will be a meaningful and memorable celebration that reflects the essence of your love, and it will create lasting memories for you and your guests alike.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of the most beautiful personal touches I've witnessed is when the couple chooses to write their own vows. These heartfelt and personalized promises to each other can add a deeply meaningful and emotional element to the wedding ceremony. When couples take the time to express their love, commitment, and unique promises in their own words, it creates a touching and intimate moment that resonates with everyone present.
Custom vows allow couples to share their journey, their dreams for the future, and what makes their love special. This personal touch not only shows the depth of their feelings for each other but also allows guests to witness the authenticity of their relationship. The emotions shared during the vow exchange often lead to teary eyes and warm hearts among family and friends. It's truly a beautiful sight to see.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
As a wedding photographer, my typical process with a couple involves several essential steps to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience leading up to their special day. Here's a description of the process I follow:
1. Initial Inquiry and Consultation:
When a couple expresses interest in my photography services for their wedding, they reach out to me through my website, social media, or referrals. I respond promptly, acknowledging their inquiry and suggesting a consultation to discuss their wedding plans in more detail. Whether in person, over the phone, or via video call, I make sure the consultation is convenient for the couple.
2. Getting to Know the Couple:
During the consultation, I take the time to get to know the couple better. I ask about their love story, how they met, and what makes their relationship special. I actively listen to their wedding vision, style preferences, and any specific moments or details they want me to capture on their big day.
3. Presenting My Portfolio and Services:
To showcase my expertise, I share my portfolio, highlighting various styles and approaches to wedding photography. I take the opportunity to explain my photography packages, including coverage hours, engagement sessions, album options, and any additional services I offer.
4. Customizing the Photography Package:
I understand that every couple's wedding is unique, so I collaborate with them to customize a photography package that aligns perfectly with their wedding vision and budget. Flexibility is key, as I want to create a package that caters to their specific needs and desires.
5. Booking and Contract Signing:
Once the couple is satisfied with the package and terms, I prepare a contract outlining the agreed-upon services, pricing, payment schedule, and copyright information. The couple reviews the contract, and after addressing any queries or adjustments, they sign the contract to secure my services for their wedding day.
6. Engagement Session (Optional):
For couples who choose an engagement session, I schedule a date and location that holds special meaning to them. The engagement session allows us to build rapport, and it helps the couple become comfortable in front of the camera. It also enables me to capture their authentic connection and personalities.
7. Pre-Wedding Consultation and Planning:
As the wedding date approaches, I schedule a pre-wedding consultation to finalize the photography timeline and details. We discuss the wedding schedule, must-have shots, family groupings, and any specific photo requests the couple may have. Clear communication is crucial to ensure that I capture all their important moments.
8. Wedding Day Coverage:
On the wedding day, I arrive at the venue or location promptly, ready to capture every precious moment from start to finish. My approach is unobtrusive, as I aim to blend into the background while capturing candid emotions and the beauty of each detail.
9. Post-Processing and Editing:
After the wedding, I meticulously curate and edit the photographs, ensuring they reflect my signature style and enhance the beauty of the moments captured. My editing process aims to present the couple with timeless and captivating images.
10. Delivery and Follow-Up:
Upon completion of the editing process, I deliver the final, edited photographs to the couple through a secure online gallery or another agreed-upon method. Following the delivery, I reach out to check in with the couple, expressing my gratitude and inquiring about their satisfaction with my services.
11. Album Design (If Included):
For couples who have chosen an album as part of their package, I collaborate with them to design a stunning keepsake that beautifully tells the story of their wedding day. The album design process is collaborative and personalized, ensuring the couple's preferences are reflected in the final product.
12. Reviews and Testimonials:
Upon the couple's request, I provide them with a platform to leave a review or testimonial about their experience with my photography services. Feedback is invaluable to me, as it helps me continually improve my craft and ensure that future couples have an equally remarkable experience.
By following this typical process, I aim to ensure that my clients receive exceptional and personalized service, allowing them to relive the magic of their wedding day through my artistry and skill as a wedding photographer.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
While there are many important and meaningful photos that every couple should consider capturing on their wedding day, one photo that stands out as a timeless and cherished memento is the "First Look" photo.
The "First Look" photo is taken before the wedding ceremony when the couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day, often in a private and intimate setting. This moment is filled with raw emotions, excitement, and anticipation, making it incredibly special and meaningful.
Of course, whether to have a "First Look" photo is entirely up to the couple's preferences and cultural traditions. Some couples may prefer to save the moment of seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony, and that's just as beautiful and meaningful.
Ultimately, the No.1 photo that every couple should take is one that captures their love, joy, and unique connection in a way that holds significance for them. The most important thing is to choose moments that resonate with the couple's story and encapsulate the essence of their wedding day.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Planning an outdoor wedding means you have to accept all kinds of nature, including rain. Although you can’t control it, you can control how you feel about it. It doesn’t get more romantic than you and your significant other trading vows in the rain. That scene alone makes your wedding unforgettable. The best tip for a rainy wedding is to just embrace it!
