Thank you Emma for immortalising our perfect day
My husband and I aren’t ones for being front and centre as we are both quite introverted by nature but with our wedding on the horizon, we knew we really wanted to capture our wedding memories so I spent a lot of time doing research to identify a photography style that fit the bill. The only thing I really knew going in was that I didn’t want the fake posing photos that really aren’t us - they would sit on a USB stick and never be looked at again. I knew I wanted someone with attention to detail, someone who would capture the bits of our wedding that I wouldn’t necessarily see, and someone who’d get us through the pain of formal photos (that I hated the idea of but knew I’d regret if I didn’t get them) as quickly as possible. I was taken by Emma from my first look at her website - but it was her blog that made me confident she was the photographer for us. A documentary photographer at heart with an eye for detail, who appreciates the need for the formal bits but knows it’s all a bit awkward for the camera shy among us. At our first meeting, I knew I’d made the right decision. She cared about our needs and wants and we quickly got down to business discussing all of the intricate details of the day. She called out my husband for watching sport rather than focusing on the task in hand - which I’d been desperate to do - but she did it in such a great way and with such good humour that he laughed with her and zoned back into our conversation... I instantly fell in love with her just a little bit as he never reacts so well when I try to get him back in the room when sport is on! I appreciate that is a weird thing to write in a review but you need someone strong when they need to start rounding up wedding guests and Emma, in that one action, showed me she was strong, funny, confident and task-focused. What more could you want in a photographer? On the actual day, Emma very quickly got to work and took some cracking photos of random things I’d never have even thought of. She worked tirelessly all day, she was swift and decisive and like an absolute ninja, she was in different parts of the wedding taking snaps that I didn’t even realise at the time. Emma also managed a barrage of changes that were thrown in at the last minute with absolute professionalism which is testament to her character. Her photos are totally beautiful and we have memories captured that we will treasure forever - particularly some beauties she took of my gran and my husbands nieces. I’ve already printed so many copies just to give out as gifts so that other people can share our treasured memories. We’ve had so many compliments on our wedding photos from friends and family and I am looking forward to getting some framed and around our house as soon as I can. I cannot recommend Emma’s services highly enough. Thank you Emma for immortalising our perfect day in a way that was so perfect for us - words cannot describe how grateful we are. Wow - we just got our photos back
Wow - we just got our photos back of our wedding day, and Emma captured it all perfectly. Her candid, natural photography style was exactly what we wanted and she’s captured all of the big and small moments throughout the day. Watching the slideshow was like reliving the day. We can’t recommend her enough if you want someone who will just blend in and capture the love of the day

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Mine! Outdoor ceremony with straw bales seating in the middle of July - heavy rain during the ceremony! It was perfect.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

natural, real-life, introvert-friendly, experienced, documentary

What about your business are you most proud of?

Developing my own unique way of approaching the work.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't go to a wedding fair until you know what you want!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I get to know them via a zoom call usually - we go over the details of the wedding day and I ask plenty of questions so I understand what their wedding day means to them. Closer to the wedding I spend some time learning about their family and friends so that on the wedding day I know exactly who are the guests of honour, and the dynamics of the relationships.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

There is never one photo I recommend for everyone - I love the fact that every couple is unique and I'll never know what it is about their wedding that will be memorable until experiencing it.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A pizza portrait!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Enjoy it! Rain adds a certain drama you just can't buy - it's fantastic, embrace it.

Describe how you got into photography.

Otters.
