What about your business are you most proud of?
The bond I create with my couples, I truly care about them, and value building a trusting friendship. I've also spent a lot of time and dedication to write up a SUPER GUIDE, to help my couples plan their wedding with photography in mind. Why? Because I want their day to run as smoothly and stress-free as possible, while also produce stunning images in a gently directed but over all non-intrusive way.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Check out the aptly named book 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...and it's all small stuff". It's a great mantra to live by and an overall helpful way to put things into perspective when things go wrong.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A photo collage framed print of the couple & their friends/ family on each of their guests' respective tables. This was such a nice heartwarming personal touch, which I am sure that their guests truly appreciated.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The journey starts with a zero obligations consultation where we uncover all their wants and needs. Following this call I draft up a tentative wedding schedule along with a bespoke proposal. Booking is secured against a deposit and the signing of the contract. Thereafter leading to the wedding day I am there to assist with any planning, we share pintrest boards where required, and I also send them my SUPER GUIDE to help them set themselves for photo success. Whereever possible I also try to schedule venue visits or might turn up 1hour early to do a scout of the venue. 1 month before the wedding we schedule another call to reconfirm the schedule, we gather a group shot list, and tie up all the final details. On the wedding day, they can just sit back and relax and enjoy the best day of their lives. Following the big day, I aim to edit their photos as quickly as possible and within 30days I deliver a stunning story teller gallery. If we have ordered any albums this is when we would have an other meeting to design their uniquely bespoke album. The journey does not end there, becuase exclusively for my couples I also offer materinity, newborn or baby shoots, really cementing a lifelong friendship with my couples in years to come.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Question to the couple: What is your non-negotiable shot? or What are you most looking forward to on the day? Then that is the no1. photo I would recommend they have taken. From experience, the most valued photo is either the First Look or the First Kiss.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A Bridal Boudoir Session - honestly, these are loads of fun, done elegantly and tastefully, can be a nice treat for the groom on the honeymoon.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Clear/ Transparent Umbrellas
Describe how you got into photography.
My parents were wedding photographers. I remember them taking me on shoots, and simply remember loving looking for compositional options, and the joy of wedding days is simply endearing.
