Derek Anson Photography

We have used Derek for our wedding photography, my sister in law's wedding photography and also two separate family shoots for special occasions and I would not choose anybody else. Derek captures the most incredible moments and is such a lovely guy too. It must be so difficult to arrange different shots but Derek does it effortlessly and without imposing. The most difficult part of choosing Derek as a photographer is choosing which photos to do to the frame as there are too many fab ones!!!

Derek was mine and my husbands photographer on our wedding day. He was great - from start to finish! He captured our day amazingly and was such a pleasure to work with. Reliable, flexible and a superb person! Photos came out great and we couldn’t have been happier with how they turned out. Such candid, natural shots…!!!

Photographs, were in the main, taken discreetly, resulting in many of those type of 'candid' style shots that tell a better story of the event rather than the main subjects....

Derek was fantastic and very laid back, he made us feel very comfortable from day 1 and you hardly notice him taking candid shots. Some fantastic photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Overall, we would highly recommend!

Derek photographed our intimate wedding recently and we couldn't be happier with his approach on the day, and our photos. Derek made us all feel at ease and was more like a guest. His style allowed everyone to enjoy the day without feeling they were being photographed. Our guests commented how lovely Derek was. We loved the photos Derek took - he has captured such special memories for us.

We absolutely loved Derek's photos and they really captured the essence of the day. The candid style was also exactly what we wanted. Derek himself is also so lovely, he completely put us at ease and was just generally lovely to be around. We couldn't have asked for anyone better - would give him 6 stars if we could!

Derek was fantastic at putting us at ease when having our photographs taken which was key for me. Very diverse styles are all captured and covered and we were so pleased with our final photos and haven’t been able to stop looking at them.

Firstly let me start by saying that Derek as a person is very friendly and easy to get on with from the get go, he saw that I was looking for a photographer and called me to introduce himself and we spoke on the phone for 10 mins just chatting about plans and his style of photography. Derek’s communication is very good and he will update you and ask for little details you may require as the day is getting closer, but he is very happy to adapt as he goes, and he was very good at this on the day. As you can imagine on a wedding day it’s hard to find all your guests when they’re drinking and having a laugh all over the grounds! Derek caught some very special moments on the day. Myself and my wife were very happy with the way Derek handled the day, he was very professional, controlled the scene perfectly and made us feel at ease with his comedic approach. It’s a day that we will never forget and the photos are beautiful, candid and I’m also happy we chose Autumn as the month to get married, Derek really made the scenes pop with colour and takes me back to the day every time I look at them.
