What is your most memorable wedding?
The ones that tend to stick out to me most are the ones where the couple have their wedding their way. It has their personalities stamped on it and it's full of the people they love and they just want to have the most amazing day full of fun and laughter.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, natural, fun, colourful, you
What about your business are you most proud of?
I just love that I can do this for a living. Something that I absolutely love. I always feel so honoured to be asked to be a part of someone's wedding day and I'm so proud of myself to be able to run my business how I want it and work with couples that get me and I get them.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do it for you. Make your wedding about you and what you love and how you want it.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Just anything that shows off the couple's personality. Less tradition and more personality I say!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
So once you book, I like to keep in touch now and again to see how your wedding planning is going. About two or three months before your wedding date, I send you a questionnaire over which asks for confirmation of timings and addresses but also things like what group shots you would like. Then it comes to your wedding day and everyone has an amazing time! The following week, I will share some sneak peeks with you on a private blog post and on my Facebook page which you can share with your family and friends. Between 4-6 weeks (or 6-8 in the summer months depending) after your wedding, you will then receive your photos on a USB in a keepsake box with prints, a slideshow of photo highlights set to music and a password protected online gallery to share with your loved ones. A little while after that, I'll check in with you to see you are all happy, how married life is, ask a couple of questions so I can feature you on my blog, and ask for a couple of reviews so other engaged couples looking for a wedding photographer can read about your experience with me. I make it much more fun than it sounds!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Have some wellies and umbrellas on stand by, but don't let the rain dampen your day. Just enjoy it. Embrace it. You can get amazing photos in the rain! And let's face it, we like in the UK. We know what the British weather is like!
Describe how you got into photography.
It's that typical "I wanted to be a photographer when I was younger" response. But actually I wanted to photograph bands or wrestling (yup, weird right?). Then when I was 24, I was made redundant from a job over the summer so decided to just go ahead and do a degree in photography. So I have a Foundation Degree and a BA (Hons) in Photography under my belt. Half way during studying, I set up my business and I haven't looked back!
