What is your photography style?
My style is very natural and documentary. I focus on telling the story of your day as it actually happens rather than staging moments or asking you to constantly pose. Think real laughter, happy tears, quiet moments and all the little things you did not realise were happening at the time.
We’re a bit awkward in front of the camera, is that a problem?
Not at all. Pretty much every couple says this, and it is completely normal. I will never ask you to do anything that feels unnatural or cringe. I keep things relaxed, give gentle guidance when needed, and let you be yourselves so you can forget about the camera and enjoy the day.
How involved are you on the wedding day?
I am there to support you without taking over. Most of the time I blend into the background and let moments unfold naturally, but I am always ready to step in and help if something needs wrangling or calming nerves. You will never feel rushed or bossed about.
Do you do group photos?
Yes, absolutely. I know family photos are important, and I keep them organised and efficient so they do not eat into your day. I usually suggest keeping them fairly simple so you can get back to celebrating as quickly as possible.
How many photos will we receive?
This depends on the length of coverage and how the day unfolds, but you can expect a generous and honest collection of images that properly tells the story of your wedding. I do not hold images back if they are good and meaningful.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
Your full gallery is usually delivered within 4 to 6 weeks. I know the wait is tough, so I always aim to send a small preview 24-48 hours after the wedding so you can relive the day while the excitement is still fresh.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. I am based in the Scottish Highlands and regularly photograph weddings all over Scotland and beyond. Whether it is a city wedding, a remote elopement or somewhere completely new, I am always up for an adventure.
Have you photographed at our venue before?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and neither is a problem. I arrive early, explore the space and look for the best light and locations on the day. Every wedding is different anyway, so I approach each one with fresh eyes.
What happens if it rains?
Scotland does what Scotland wants, and rain is just part of the story. I am very used to working in all weather, and some of the most atmospheric and emotional photos come from less than perfect conditions. We embrace it rather than fight it.
What is it like working with you from start to finish?
Very relaxed, friendly and straightforward. I am always happy to answer questions, offer advice and help with timings if needed. On the day itself you can expect calm energy, bad jokes, quiet encouragement and someone who genuinely cares about you having the best day possible.
