What is your most memorable wedding?
Set at the gorgeous Allington Castle in Maidstone, it was the perfect weather, perfect location photographically and best of all the couple and the guests were fantastic to work with - such an enjoyable day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Contemporary, stylish, creative, friendly and quality
What about your business are you most proud of?
The quality of the images and service we provide - that to us is what it's all about
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make all the plans you can, give yourself time to organise everything, but on the day make sure you ENJOY IT - ultimately it is a very special day where the two of you celebrate a life-long covenant to each other.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I myself love to give a personal touch to weddings by helping to open doors, attach flowers to button holes and making sure things run smoothly and on time.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I love to meet a bride & groom first, as they get a chance to meet me and for me to meet them. We chat about requirements, ideas etc. and make sure we're all on the same page.
We take a 50% deposit at time of signing contracts and the final 50% two weeks before the wedding.
During the run up we will be in contact to make sure we have all the details we need:
Timings for the day
Any special requirements for photos
Group photo list
We also ask for the names of your close relatives - this is because we memorise them to make our interaction more personal, rather than just saying 'hey you, can you come over here?'
Once the wedding is over we edit the photos and send them out after 2/3 weeks.
We then take time to design your albums, giving you 3 separate edit opportunities after the first draft.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A good photo of the two of you, looking at the camera, naturally posed.
It is the one photo you will look back on to see yourselves and to show others.
It's simple - but it is the most important.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Haha lots of different 'original' images!
We've done Star Wars themed images, Avengers style, Fairy tale style.
But sometimes the simple photo where people are just posed in a fun way is great!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Always have a backup plan!! As a photographer I will always have a backup location for photos and will have scouted beforehand to check locations and lighting.
It's also worth bringing umbrellas - hey if you know it's going to rain have fun with it!!! Get guests to bring different colour umbrellas, it could make some great shots!
Don't be put out if it does rain, a good photographer will have a plan, go with it and just enjoy - it'll be worth it in the end.
Describe how you got into photography.
I studied all the way back when I was in college. i would spend lunch breaks in the darkroom just experimenting and learning - i loved it!
As the years have gone by I have managed photo labs, even winning awards for quality of photographs we produced.
I kept doing photography as a hobby all these years until I finally decided I needed to pursue my dream of being a photographer - and I haven't looked back!
I love photography, I love people - I get up every morning and enjoy the variety and creativity!
