What is your most memorable wedding?
Either: Polly and Darren at Tunnels Beach, it was the first time I'd seen an argument between a £5000 dress and a sparkler (luckily her husband is a member of The London Fire Brigade and there were several other members there). Or when Sarah and Simon sent me about 5 WhatsApp photos of their house decorated in dozens of photographs I'd made for them at their wedding.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Friendly, knowledgeable, empathetic, tenacious and fun.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I love that I do a better job by getting to know you and your guests, by being absorbed into your day- this is the most common feedback I receive and makes me very proud of the service I provide.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Buy or make table and venue decorations that you can use in your home afterwards, they'll bring lasting memories.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Dogs. I love it when a couple bring their dogs to a wedding.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We have a chat via email, plan a phone-call or a Zoom (eeeek), perhaps have an initial meeting involving coffee where I learn all about your wedding, you the couple, your friends and family.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Give YOUR phone/camera to a friend, let them take photos of you (not selfies); have photos of yourself from another's perspective.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A guest frog-leaping a bride. And yes, it was a Young Farmers wedding. 😉
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Smiles and transparent umbrellas. I bring both.
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always owned a camera, I have boxes and boxes of photos of family and friends from when we grew up. I originally trained in black and white photography, processing and developing wedding photos on film. At university I specialised in non-digital image projection. Nowadays I shoot digital cameras and I love them; I'm able to deliver hundreds and hundreds of photographs in both colour and black and white (so you can choose which you prefer) that tell the whole story of your day.
