What is your most memorable wedding?
We have so many great memories to choose from, but a Bride and Groom doing the Limbo with us comes to mind and making a Grooms dream come true singing with the band to his new bride! These are two great memories we've experienced at our weddings.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Energetic, interactive, fun, professional, exciting.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The wonderful testimonials we receive from our clients are really lovely, and the recommendations we receive from those. The compliments of professionalism and care from our clients. We have on-going contact and relationships with our clients even years after their weddings have passed and perform at many other events for them and their friends, we love that. Clients often return repeatedly to see us at our residency venue in Birmingham, it's always nice to see them again and catch up.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Book your musical entertainment early, at least 1 year or more in advance as the good suppliers will always get booked up early. I can't tell you how many disappointed couples we have had to turn away because they have enquired too late!
Ask your wedding venue IF THEY HAVE A SOUND LIMITER & IT'S LEVEL before you book a band, this can impact heavily on the type of music and atmosphere you can create for your wedding evening party.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Hmmm that's a hard question, as we have seen so many great personal touches. One special touch I recall at a wedding is the couple had photos from their youth on the tables instead of table numbers and it was so sweet to see. All the guests were talking about the photos and asking them questions. It was a great talking point for everyone.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It all starts with an enquiry usually via email or via our website. If you complete our contact form it's the best way for us to give you the quickest response and quote.
2. You will be sent a tailored quote with all the options you request.
3. We will then follow up inviting you to have a phone consultation to see if you have any questions, some couples prefer to do this via email also, which is fine. (We know wedding planning is time-consuming!).
4. Once you are happy with your quote and want to move forward we will send you our Booking Form to get all your details and then send you over our terms and invoice to pay a small deposit to secure your date.
5. Once you have signed your terms and paid your invoice the band is all secured for your wedding date.
6. We welcome you on board and invite you to the Tru Groove Family! :-)
What makes a romantic first dance?
A song that is personal to you both, one that you both love, or something you both enjoy. You can have fun with it as not everyone wants a slow first dance. (We have some great ideas if you're not keen on a traditional first dance). Ps: most couples are not keen on a first dance.
What is your number one floor-filler?
Oooh that's a hard question there are so many great ones, but September by Earth Wind & Fire always seems to do it for most people or for something more modern Uptown Funk is also a good option.
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
Hmmm so many to choose from! Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, The Clarke Sisters (gospel artist), George Duke or Whitney Houston, Michael McDonald all for different reasons!
What is the soundtrack to your life?
'Amazing Grace' (by Aretha Franklin)
'Summer Sun' (by Koop)
