What is your most memorable wedding?
We absolutely loved a recent wedding we performed at - an old friend of Sarah's was getting married and requested Ain't No Mountain High Enough. The ambience was so relaxed, until we started playing this song! Everyone, including both brides, were on the dance floor, and it was such a hit that they asked us to play it again at the end of the set! What a brilliant evening.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Easy-going, bespoke, fun, light-hearted and emotive.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That we are completely bespoke. No wedding is the same for us as we work with each couple to fuse their favourite music with their dream day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Consider including live music throughout your entire day - many couples neglect the earlier parts of their wedding day, but these are normally the most effective with live music being performed. Imagine walking down the aisle to your favourite song being performed in harmony by live musicians! What better way to start your big day?!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love seeing weddings where there is no seating plan. It is a day where two families become one, so let everyone mingle!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
From the enquiry, we try to gauge what sort of direction a couple hope to take their wedding in. We like to keep in touch every few months with a personal email to ask how plans are going, and then we tend to meet couples about 2 months before their big day. This allows us to get to know the couple a little more, discuss finer details, and ensure we all have the same information. The next time we see a couple is on their wedding day, and it's lovely catching their eye as you sing their favourite songs during the day.
What makes a romantic first dance?
Anything you like! You request it, and we'll do our best to learn it.
What is your number one floor-filler?
Normally when we play before a DJ, there's a few tunes we leave until the end as they are guaranteed to get people dancing! Faith, Valerie and Ain't No Mountain High Enough are our top choices!
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
Although we sing a lot of modern songs, we are both massive fans of retro music. Sarah would love to have been a female member of The Beatles, while Thomas would most like to have been in a duo with Jimi Hendrix!
What is the soundtrack to your life?
The cover of Beyonce's XO, by John Mayer. As well as both being huge John Mayer fans (and Beyonce fans secretly!), we are also a couple so we like to sing this to each other!
