What is your most memorable wedding?
Most memorable wedding was in 2019 when DJ'ing at an outside venue. All was going well until we suddenly got an unexpected downpour, had to pack everything up and move the venue to one of the guests houses (a big one). The organisation of everyone pulling together made this a really remarkable day
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Quality, Professional, Club Standard, Energetic, Second to none
What about your business are you most proud of?
After 20 years DJ'ing in clubs around the UK and Europe setting up this business and making a success of it. We wanted to bring the energy, organisation and feel good factors over from American weddings to UK and feel like we have succeeded
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
A DJ is so much more than someone who just puts music on. Speak to your DJ and ensure not only the songs you want playing are listed but also songs you dont want playing. Also lighting can be key to a venue and in our opinion as important as any table décor etc. A good entertainment company such as ourselves will be able to make the venue not only beautiful but also keep your guests talking about it.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A relative who lived in China had flew back secretly and we were asked beforehand to allow them to sneak into the DJ Booth under disguise, play a song then make a little speech. The look on everyone's face was brilliant as literally no-one besides the parents of the bride and ourselves knew about this.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Initially we would have a chat to discuss the requirements and anything special they had seen or think may want. From there we would get the couple booked in and nearer the time work with them on music and lighting. In the meantime we visit the venue and work with the planners on where to setup, space, electricity usage and lighting design. Following this we report back on what actions taken and then make sure on the day that the setup of equipment etc. is made behind the scenes as to not interrupt anything.
What makes a romantic first dance?
Well this can be debatable as couples requests vary. The most popular request we have is Ed Sheeran "Thinking out Loud" but we have had a range of these from Iron Maiden to Lana Del Rey. Although it doesn't happen so much now we can also work with a couple who want to organise a "flash" wedding dance (going from some slow dance music to something upbeat and then performing a routine)
What is your number one floor-filler?
Again this varies from couple to couple. What is a popular floor filler now wont be in 6 months time.
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
Has to be the Rolling Stones
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Anything from the 80's. Bring back all that childhood nostalgia
