The McStocker Ceilidh Band is based in Co. Antrim, Mid-Ulster Northern Ireland and is primarily comprised of family members. The band has over 25 years experience playing at Irish and Scottish ceilidhs. They play a good mixture of Irish ceili and Scottish ceilidh dances with some jiving and waltzing etc to add a bit of variety. Irish dances we do are for example Walls of Limerick, Two hand Reel , Seige of Ennis, as well as the Scottish ceilidh dances Strip the Willow, Gay Gordons, Dashing white Sargent, Eight Some reel etc. We play the usual songs for waltzing if guests would like to try that, for example the Mountains of Mourne, Green Glens of Antrim, Boys from the County Armagh etc etc also the Scottish songs like, Will ye go a lassie go, Flower of Scotland the Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen etc. They also play jiving songs like Country roads and Galway girl, and some Buddy Holly songs just to provide a bit of variety and a wee short break from the ceilidh dances. Anything to get guests up on the floor! They have a four piece or sometimes five piece band (they can also bring a flute player) and will invite the guests up on the floor walk them through the dances for a while and call it out over the top of the music, we have two callers. The band usually play from the meal is over up until the buffet say 8pm to 10pm or 8.30pm to 10.30pm .......... about two hours but you could switch to a dj that way you will please all tastes in music. Alternatively the band could play for an hour and a half before the buffet and say three quarters of an hour after the buffet. What ever suits you suits this band.
