Hi I'm Marcus, an experienced singer-songwriter who has performed regularly (400+ times) around London, South East and further afield for the last four years, including 50+ weddings. I play a mixture of popular cover songs from 1960-2020, mostly in the pop and rock genres, but sometimes with a touch of soul and jazz. I have a repertoire of 150+ songs. I can play to accompany the ceremony, quiet background music for dinner, the first dance, romantic ballads for drinks & canapés outside, or whatever else you need. Alternatively, I can provide lively upbeat material for later on to get people dancing. My one man show can be a surprisingly effective (and far more affordable) replacement for a band! I try to be really flexible in accommodating exactly what you want for the day - and am happy to consult over video beforehand to make sure we get it spot on! I'm always happy to learn a song or two for no extra cost, if you would like something special with a more personal touch for your ceremony / first dance. His voice is beautiful and he plays really well
Marcus was awesome, he played the perfect which was 'perfect' by Ed Sheeran for my sister's entrance song and other songs to celebrate the civil wedding. His voice is beautiful and he plays really well. Lots of guests complimented the the music after the ceremony. Alongside this he was super professional, he gave us a choice of songs which we can pick too. We booked Marcus last minute and he was super quick to respond and help. What is your most memorable wedding?

An Indian wedding where I performed in front of approximately 500 people - my biggest audience to date!

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am extremely proud to have made the transition to working as a full time musician in 2017 and never looked back! I'm often told that my performance has really made people's day - which is backed by my 100% record of positive feedback, and some of the incredible comments I've had. Being able to see how happy this makes people is something money can't buy, and is the most rewarding thing about being a performer.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Regarding the music - make sure you have the appropriate thing for every moment of the day. Visualise what it will actually be like, and how your guests will interact with / interpret it, and feel free to ask any questions so you can get an accurate picture!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

First contact is made via either email or phone, where we discuss the day, answer any questions, and quote you a price for what it is you have in mind. After this, we would typically discuss the finer details and make sure all logistical concerns are pinned down as far in advance of the wedding day as possible. I will then get down to learning any specific song(s) which the couple have requested, and can always send you a quick recording of the song(s) in question to make sure you are happy with the arrangement. I'm also happy to jump on a video call at any time before the day to discuss anything necessary, so you can get a feel for me in person. If you like, I can also give you a list of public places (usually pubs) where I will be performing leading up to the wedding date, so you can see me perform in person if you wish.
