A Ceilidh is a great way to celebrate a Wedding – it brings people together, young and old, and it is a great way to make a wedding reception a memorable and fun occasion – we can compere your event and even play special tunes‘Here Comes the Bride’. Why choose a Ceilidh for your wedding? – Well firstly it’s really good clean energetic fun with a broad appeal to all ages and more importantly the nature of a Ceilidh makes friends of strangers and is a great ice breaker! Once you’ve booked the band and explained the arrangements for the day, mentioning any special announcements or musical moments that you want us to create, you can relax knowing that we can provide provide the perfect entertainment for your special occasion.

We play at over 20 weddings during the average year and are more than happy to accomodate the needs of the wedding party whether that be shifting start times, announcements through the PA, sparkly wedding lights or special requests for specific tunes or dances.

What is your most memorable wedding?

All the weddings we play at are memorable for the way they bring people together in joyous celebration of new partnerships starting out together !

Fun, informal, traditional, folky, acoustic

What about your business are you most proud of?

The repeat business we get (we often get asked to play at many different family events as a result of playing at weddings)

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Think about having a break half way through the evening. Flat shoes for the bride are a good idea for the ceilidh.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Some of the wedding favours for children have been been beautiful and carefully thought out.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We like to talk through the event and the logistics of getting into the venue to set up the PA etc with the couple.

What makes a romantic first dance?

First choice would be the couples favourite tune played through our PA at volume second choice well a waltz is always great as is a small set dance with bride, groom and immediate family/friends

What is your number one floor-filler?

Circassian Circle is always a joy to play and dance!

Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?

The Dubliners or Bothy Band!

What is the soundtrack to your life?

All things Folky!
