What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get your venue decided on before planning your decor. The decor will be determined in large part by the feeling that your venue gives you.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I do love a choreographed dance routine but other lovely touches are ‘wishing trees’ where people can write messages on tags and hang them on a tree for everyone else to see.
Polaroid cameras on tables and dotted around the venue are also cute.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
•Consultation call to familiarise ourselves with your unique vision and style. During this stage we will discuss your favourite botanicals, your concept (modern, romantic, minimalistic, etc) and exchange inspiration boards and photos. This is the most crucial part of the process as it's when we really get to know each individual couple and the collaboration begins.
•Send an initial proposal based on the consultation call
•Send proposal updates if needed
•Send invoice requesting 20% deposit
•Send invoice requesting full payment 6 weeks before the wedding
•Final consultation call to finalise every detail and discuss any last minute changes or additions.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Pieces of jewellery that or meaningful or plants/ flowers that are part of the couple’s story or heritage.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Yes, according to the language of flowers, the red rose symbolizes love. In the Victorian era, the language of flowers, also known as floriography, was used to convey sentiments and messages through floral arrangements. In the book "The Language of Flowers" by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, the red rose is often associated with deep affection and romantic love, making it a timeless symbol of passion and devotion.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I’m sure all florists have their own opinion 😊 but hydrangeas with their voluminous clusters of petals can lend a soft, romantic feel to bouquets and centerpieces.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Donate:
Any flowers that our clients don’t keep, we try to give to ‘Floral Angels,’ a lovely volunteer organisation, that takes these flowers on to hospices.
Repurpose:
Transform the wedding flowers into potpourri or dried arrangements to preserve their beauty and memories.
Flowers and bouquets can also be preserved in resin to create beautiful artwork for the home.
Gift:
Give the flowers to guests as thoughtful favors, or distribute them to loved ones who couldn't attend the wedding.
Plant:
Plant the cuttings from your arrangements in your garden or a special outdoor space to serve as a living reminder of your wedding day.
