What is your most memorable wedding?
My first wedding as a florist is definitely the one I remember most. This was a huge turning point for me in my floral career and it dictated the direction I would take going forwards. Since then I have not looked back and Serenity Blooms is going from strength to strength
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, timeless, elegant, chic and romantic
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I only commit to one wedding per week, therefore you get my undivided attention to ensure every detail is perfect.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do it your way, don't be led by others. You are unique and your wedding should be a reflection of you. It's your day, you should have it your way.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love to see pictures from past family weddings and occasions. It makes a great talking point and its always nice for guests as well as the bride and groom to reminisce over.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once I have been contacted by a couple, I then set up a consultation. This can either be on the phone, via zoom or in person. We then go through everything about your day and your floral vision. From there I send out a detailed quote. Once accepted we can arrange further consultations and venue visits where appropriate. We will be in touch until your big day, when I will personally be there delivering your flowers and available for setting up, moving arrangements and clearing down.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
I incorporated my grandmothers ring in my cousins bridal bouquet, she had sadly passed away a week before the wedding and this meant that she could be there with us all in one form. We all had a little cry when I handed it to her and we all appreciated how special it was.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
I love nothing more than working with roses, not only is there a multitude of different varieties and colours they represent love, beauty, faith and passion.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I think that flowers are so personal and may evoke different feeling for different people. I honestly think the most romantic flower, is the one that speaks to you like no other when received from a loved one.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
This is entirely down to the couple, some people like to have their bouquet preserved so they can keep it, others like to give flowers away as gifts and then there is the tradition of throwing your bouquet. There is no right or wrong here, its a personal choice.
