Looking for a Flower Designer for your big day? Here at Poppydots, we specialise in weddings and events to create amazing, natural and relaxed styling that brings our couples vision to life. A wedding gives a lifetime of memories, for both you and your guests. Flowers, of course, play a pinnacle part and will be forever admired and loved. Poppydots provide free consultations, held at the workshop, where you have the opportunity to ask questions, to get to know our style and personality and to share ideas and inspiration. Poppydots is a preferred supplier at The Ye Olde Plough House, The Compasses at Pattiswick and Newland Hall.

Ever since i have followed Poppy Dots on Instagram I have dreamed of having Sophie arrange flowers for the day I finally got married. She did not disappoint. My Bouquet was absolutely perfect. Not only did she deliver on the day but the whole process from start to end was exactly what I needed. I had ideas about what I wanted but not enough to be confident in my choices. She listened, she suggested and together we were able to come up with the most beautiful ideas!

The perfect florist for our day
Me and my husband got married in April 2018 and it was quite an overwhelming experience to know where to begin, I knew that flowers would be a big part of my day but did not know where to start. Sophie spoke to me about what I liked and the feel of the day that I wanted and she did the rest and it was truly perfection . Every flower that was used was perfect and all my guests where incredibly complimentary. Sophie has an incredible eye and passion for flowers and made our wedding day perfect. Amazing Florist
Poppydots was amazing for our special day. Fully supportive throughout the entire wedding experience. The buttonholes and our pedestal display were amazing and much commented on by our guests. The personal touch of helping the ushers with the buttonholes was also greatly apreciated by us all. My bridesmaid bouquets were also unusual as not traditional flowers but wire and bead work which Poppydots created to perfection. The advice to the bridesmaids on how best to work with them was also invaluable! So happy with the end results. Many thanks to Poppydots!

Personal touch, beautiful flowers
Not knowing much about flowers myself but knowing we wanted them to be an integral part of our wedding, we were so glad we chose Poppydots as our florist. Sophie was simply amazing - she seemed to be able to read my mind and chose flowers and colours that suited us both perfectly - definitely better than we could have chosen ourselves. The flowers were one of the biggest aspects of the wedding from which we’ve received compliments and Sophie worked hard to achieve the look we wanted. Couldn’t have asked for a better florist! Xx

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Get as much done in the early stages as possible. Visit fairs and meet local suppliers face to face, it will be these businesses you will remember the most. Get in contact with suppliers within 18-12 months of the wedding date, companies get booked up quickly and you don't want to miss out. Prepare yourself before heading into consultations, research and have some questions about the business and their service. Look for the best quality for your budget, most suppliers will try to accommodate as best they can.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Once a bride reaches out and enquires with Poppydots, we will normally organise a consultation to discuss the requirements and style. I then formally issue a quote and if accepted an invoice will follow. A 20% non-refundable booking fee secures your wedding date.

What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?

A postage stamp within the binding.

What is the most romantic flower and why?

The most romantic flower is down to personal taste. I adore a Peony or Ranunculus as these are both very beautiful. My favourite however is a garden style Rose.

What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?

Providing the flowers have been looked after throughout the day, you will find that in water the flowers will last much longer than just the day. You can also look into preserving the flowers, although we do no offer this service.
