What is your most memorable wedding?
It probably has to actually be my first wedding. Out of hundreds i have done i will never forget that one! The bride was so nice and as it was my first wedding it meant so much to me. I have since done a few photo shoots with the amazing photographer from that wedding too
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative Rustic Beautiful Thoughtful Up-to-date
What about your business are you most proud of?
Starting with nothing and gradually building up piece by piece
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Think about the overall order of things when organising, for example it's hard to organise your Wedding flowers without knowing your venue, colour scheme and overall style of your wedding first.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I always like it when brides use flowers grown themselves or by family members, we've had some beautiful sweet peas used from a brides Aunties garden before. It's not always easy to have flowers at their best for your wedding date but when possible it's a really great personal touch.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial contact we like to meet as soon as possible at a suitable time to get the ball rolling, this is great for couples who don't know exactly what they want straight away as we can help with lots of ideas for them to go away and think about. From then we can meet as many times as necessary on the build up to the wedding date, we can meet at the venue if need be. Then about a week before the wedding by phone call we will run through everything once more before delivering and setting up your wedding flowers on your wedding day.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
I love when brides add little picture lockets with pictures of family members who couldn't be them or have maybe passed away. It's so beautiful and means so much the the bride.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Eryngium (thistle) seems to always make it's way into weddings here in Scotland although sometimes it doesn't particularly go with the other flowers used so i would never say that it has to be used.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
The obvious answer is probably a Naomi Red Rose, but when it comes to weddings these aren't really used much. For me it's got to be David Austin Juliet Garden Rose, they are just the most beautiful flower ever and are mostly only used in weddings as they can be quite pricey, but every petal (of which theres LOADS) is worth every penny.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
USE THEM! I hate to think that the flowers would just go to waste after the wedding, take everything apart, get some oasis foam and get creative!
