Hey you! Welcome to my corner of Bridebook. I am Rebecca, the florist, designer, proposal writer, bucket cleaner and everything in between, behind Lilac and Lace Floral Design. I create natural, effortless florals with so much love and even more heart, and you can probably tell that I absolutely LOVE my job! I want my designs to look like they have just fallen together.. like they have simply been swept up from the field. And, I am working really hard on that last part, with my own flower plot in the making to hopefully supply some of my own flowers from 2023. The environment and the footprint we leave behind is so so important to me. I want to leave my Daughter with a beautiful world full of all the incredible things I have been fortunate enough to see. I am working towards a Sustainability Accreditation with the Sustainable Wedding Alliance and make delibrate, concious choices about the flowers and accessories I use. Spring Wedding at The Ferry House Inn

Rebecca created the flowers for our wedding in February and I can't recommend her enough! From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make sure everything came together, from renting us everything we needed decoration wise, arranging our Succulent plant favours and setting up our table plan. It was perfect and all of our guests commented on how amazing the flowers were. We changed our minds a couple of times on colours during the planning process and Rebecca was more than happy to accommodate and take things through. Honestly, amazing!

Summer wedding at St Julians

Rebecca created the most beautiful flower arrangements for our wedding in August 2019. We went to Rebecca with a fairly loose brief - bright, colourful and natural. She immediately understood what we were looking for, and suggested that she could pick our flowers from a local grower a few days before the wedding, which really appealed to us. We were so happy we went with that approach - the flowers were simply stunning - we got so many compliments. Rebecca was also a delight to work with - always quick to reply and so kind and positive.

Sunflower wedding at Hayne House

Rebecca did all the flowers for my wedding and it is impossible to put into words how happy I was with her work. They looked out of this world and they were absolutely perfect for our theme. I honestly could not have asked for anything more, from hair clips and button holes to bouquets and centre pieces, everything was just perfect. Rebecca’s work is outstanding and the mood boards she creates make it so easy to understand and visualise what the final design will be like. She offered hours of consultation to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Separately to my wedding flowers, Rebecca’s wreath making workshops at Christmas are also brilliant fun. I would highly recommend Lilac and Lace Floral Design to everyone for any occasion.

She instantly understood our vision and after our first meeting provided us with a detailed mood board that captured all the details and creativity I’d been struggling to express. The service that we received was personal on a level that no other florist I’d met with had achieved. I knew from the moment we met, that Rebecca was an absolute professional and on our wedding day she went over and above what I’d been expecting. My bouquet was absolutely stunning, our centrepieces were simply perfection, she truly is the queen of foiliage. Rebecca really is one of the loveliest women I’ve ever met! I knew from the second we met that I could trust her 1 million percent, and she were the only supplier I didn’t have to nag at any stage. With regards to the actual flowers, I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life! My bouquet arrived and my Mum cried. As a florist she understood what I wanted and executed it perfectly, she really is a truly incredibly talented lady. Rebecca produced some beautiful creations for our wedding at Preston Court. In the lead-up she went above and beyond in listening to our ideas and themes whilst suggesting things we hadn't thought of which would be in season at the time. The mood board she produced was really helpful in bringing our discussions to life. On the day, Rebecca's creations really did have the wow factor and many of our guests commented on how stunning the flowers were on their tables. To top it off, Rebecca is super professional and a lovely person - we felt in very good hands which is exactly what you want when wedding planning is stressful enough! Wow Becky is a force of nature, we got married in September in a Safari Park, and it was perfect and magical, and a lot of that was down to Becky's amazingness. She was professional from start to finish, listening to our themes, colours and then came back with ideas in a mood board that helped us visualise her ideas, she is so creative and then on the day, I was taken back by her talented masterpieces. She made Safari related trees, a deconstructed archway, and the bouquets and buttonholes, and everything really was perfect. Thanks so much Becky for everything!

Make a mood board of the things you love and take it to all your suppliers, so they can see your hopes and dreams for your day.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

My initial consultations take place online, so that you can get a feel for me and the place where your flowers will be created. They are laid back, chatty and fun, and are the perfect opportunity to get to know each other. We talk through every aspect of your wedding plans, how you met, your likes and dislikes, and most importantly your vision for your big day. I will then guide you through flower availability, seasonality and the type of designs that would give you the very most from your budget. I promise you will go away excited and full of ideas. After our meeting, I’ll put together all of our ideas into a Design Proposal. This will help you to visualise the designs, the flowers, and all of the little details and special touches that will make your wedding flowers so personal to you. I will look after every aspect of the planning process, allowing you to be involved as you like. Some couples like to stay informed and be part of every decision, whilst others are happy for me to take the lead, either way, your vision will be brought to life in a way that is even better than you ever imagined. As your wedding day approaches, we will discuss all of the final plans to ensure they are absolutely perfect. You will then get to enjoy the build up, whilst I busily get to work creating the most incredible designs for you. I will personally order in each stem of foliage and flower, nurturing them and making sure they are in perfect condition for your wedding day. On the day itself, I will arrive bright and early to transform your venue, ensuring every detail is beyond all of your expectations. Everything will be handled with the upmost care, attention and professionalism to make sure your wedding flowers are simply sensational.

What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?

Take them home and enjoy them, give them to your guests or get your bouquet dried and framed.
