Teach Me 2 Dance Full Description
Your Big Day. A wonderful occasion filled with friends, family, joy ... and the dreaded video camera. Enjoyable, but scary. Especially when the DJ announces your first dance, and all eyes are turned upon you, just the two of you on the dance floor. We can help to make that first dance foot-perfect. Let us coach you in a first dance style to suit the spirit of your wedding - traditional, modern, 'jazzy', themed ... whatever style you feel comfortable with. From the latest pop to modern classics, Waltz to Jive, Cha Cha to Dreamtime, we'll come and talk through with you your favourite music, your hopes and plans for the big day, and then tailor a routine for you to learn in the privacy of your own Personal Workshop sessions in Berkshire and North Hampshire. See our website for more details

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Jane Ford
Convinced you've got 2 left feet? We've been teaching people to dance since 1996 and we firmly believe that anyone can learn to dance, given the right instruction, and plenty of fun and encouragement - it's often said that if you can walk, you can dance. We've choreographed allsorts from heavy metal to traditional Turkish music, bhangra and the usual pop ballads, so let us know your favourite ‘Our Song’ and we’ll help you make your first dance into a memorable one.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Debbie & Angela's Civil Partnership - 2 lovely crazy girls Rocking and Rolling!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, patient, experienced, encouraging, creative

What about your business are you most proud of?

In 20 years of teaching, we have never had anyone that didn't manage to learn eventually - people take different times to learn to dance, but with enough practice and encouragement anyone can master it

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Plan your day for what you yourselves want, not for what other people want

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A 'Marryoke' - all the guests taking part in a video'd singalong & dancealong - fab!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

The first dance is usually the last official duty of a long, emotional and very tiring day, so my philosophy is to keep to something simple and elegant rather than going for all the tricks and not pulling it off. I usually give you a beginning, a fancy ending and a fairly flexible middle bit, so if you start a bit late or have a bit of a mental block during the dance, you can always get it back on track (a bit like the emergency stop in driving lessons - you hope you'll never need it, but good to have just in case!) You'll get a tailored step-set to suit your music, but we also spend little time on recovering from going slightly wrong so your guests won't ever know!

What is your No. 1 top tip for keeping a crowd entertained?

Plenty of humour and interaction, but without putting anyone down

Where is the most memorable place you have performed?

Giving a demonstration and Jive group lesson to the Morris Dancing Federation's AGM - quite surreal!

Have you had any interesting surprises at a wedding?

My usual issue is how to talk to other guests without letting on how I know the bride and groom - most couples don't tell anyone they've been having dance lessons - so I've got quite good at evasive answers and strategic withdrawals to other rooms!

What is your party trick?

That would be telling!!!
