First we check your dates of the event against my schedule, and book it in the calendar. A 30% non-refundable downpayment is required upfront to secure your bookings. At time of booking we will fill out initial model release and preliminary contract forms.
Then I work with yourself and/or planner and decide on the event of your choice to paint. For weddings, a popular choice is the first dance. At this time you also decide on your “VIP People” to add to your finished painting- these are the important people at the wedding you want to include. I can include up to 6 extra people in the final painting, conditional on size of painting and the composition.
On the day of the event, I will bring the pre-prepped painting, I will be painting anywhere from a day in advance to a few hours before the event starts to create background painting and setting. 1 hour before the event starts I will take a group photo of all the VIP people and bride and groom for reference later. If it is a surprise I can take my own references discreetly.
When the setting is chosen and picture taken, I will commence painting the guests including bride and groom, as well as refining the background and creating the atmosphere of the event. I will also entertain your guests, and talk to them about the painting process – Many people have never seen the process of a painting and enjoy the conversation while watching the magic happen!
When the event if finished, I will take the painting back to my studio and finish the painting. This can take anywhere between 4-10 weeks due to the natural drying and layering process of oils and on the commission size and level of detail involved. Within one week of painting at the event I will send you the thank you cards and follow up email on the painting, to discuss any changes or corrections.
After approval of final product, and the final payment received, I will then arrange to either ship, deliver, or for you to collect the finished painting at my studio.
