Yummy Cakes

Hi, I’m Niki and I’m the creative mind behind Yummy Cake, based in South East Cornwall. I’ve been baking cakes from an early age, ‘helping’ Gran in her kitchen creating & baking mine & my siblings birthday cakes. Some requests needed a little more explanation, ‘a Rubik’s cube? What’s one of them?’ but each cake was made with love and I believe if you love doing something it shows in what you do. I grew up in the South West & studied art & fashion design before a career in fashion took me away from Cornwall. My fashion & design background has developed my eye for detail and my passion for creativity & precision. Having a family drew me back to Cornwall and eventually gave me the opportunity to turn my love for cake making into my dream job. Why do I love my job? I love making people happy, I love baking and I love being creative. Wedding cakes allow me to feed all of those passions. I really enjoy the collaborative process involved in creating wedding cakes. Taking each client through the design journey, using my knowledge & experience to demonstrate the possibilities of sugar & cake. And honestly, that moment you see a face light up on sight of your work, well that feeling is just so infectious and makes me smile for the rest of the day! And when I’m not making, creating & dreaming of cake, I escape to the sea. I am lucky to share this passion with my fiancé and we love to sail the Cornish coast & beyond. The freedom of sailing is such an amazing feeling, a real mix of calm and exhilaration. Cornwall is beautiful and I feel so lucky to live here.
