A bespoke and beautiful cake is always the centrepiece of a special event or celebration in ones life.
At Sugar Designs, each of our couture cakes is lovingly crafted and customised to represent your special event.
We use the finest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible, as we understand the importance and significance of your cake looking and of course tasting amazing!
Whether you are blowing out the candles, gathering to cut your wedding cake before the first dance or meeting with friends and family for a special event, Sugar Designs will bake fresh, from scratch (never frozen!), and create your cake with tender loving care.

What is your most memorable wedding?
I remember all my weddings for so many different reasons and love seeing your wedding 'come together' when we deliver the cake.

What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud to have turned my hobby and passion into a business in an industry which I love being part of. I also take pride in constantly learning new skills and continuing to improve and testing myself by successfully competing at international level to get great feedback in the wonderful world of 'Cake International"
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Set up a dedicated wedding email address - with folders for each aspect of your special day where you can store supplier details of people you feel you can build a great relationship with, plus save ideas and quotes for when you are ready to press the green light!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I see so many wonderful and creative ideas this is hard to answer, but I loved a barn wedding where the rustic wood theme was incredibly beautiful, and a very special table plan was carved with every guests name individually.
I also love it when my couples choose to write their own name tags for our 'favour place name biscuits' and personalise them with a reason why that person is special to them - heart melting!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We offer a consultation service (charged at £40 in advance, which is deducted from your final invoice when you book with Sugar Designs). At consultation you have the opportunity to bring up to three people including the happy couple if you wish - and you have the option to try all the flavours from our menu, other suppliers rarely offer this, but we know how often the cake is a 'family decision', sometimes being a gift, so we like to make the consultation a fun part of your wedding journey!
Our website gives an idea of our prices for the various styles of cakes, we can give guildelines on price, however the level of detail decided for your cake at consultation will define the final price, this will include all elements including loan of a stand if you wish, delivery and set up of your cake to most venues (and always at locations where we are a preferred supplier.)
