I started ‘Kathryn’s Homemade Cakes in September 2007 and it all began with me producing Home baked goodies, alongside the ladies of Lichfield Country Market (Formerly W.I. Markets) The business started to evolve, when I was asked to make a birthday cake for a neighbour and I made my first wedding cake in September 2009. Creating Bespoke Wedding Cakes has turned into a real passion and I really love being a small part of your special celebrations. I am based in Burntwood, Staffordshire and I bake the cakes in my kitchen at home (5* Rated with Lichfield Council) and decorate them in my pretty Garden Studio. I have won several awards for my Wedding Cakes at Cake International, held in November every year at the NEC.

To say it was amazing is a complete understatement
Kathryn made our wedding cake in August 18. To say it was amazing is a complete understatement. Our cake was unbelievable, the detail and amount of hand made flowers/butterflies and our fur babies was truly amazing. To go from a little sketch via email to the most stunning cake just shows how incredibly talented Kathryn is. they were amazing!
Kathryn did our wedding cakes back in 2014 and they were amazing! This year it's my husband's 30th and as a surprise we threw him a party last night. I had ummed and ahhed about whether to have him a cake made or not but having explained to kathryn my ideas of a Jack Daniels inspired cake, I knew I was glad I made the decision to go ahead. The cake was amazing and so realistic. And it was huge so means all of the family can have a slice.

Excellent service, Kathryn is very friendly extremely professional dropped our gorgeous wedding cake to the venue set it up looked beautiful and tasted out of this world AND at the best price we found out of several different cake makers. Describe your typical process with a couple.

I like to meet for a design/tasting consultation. We will sit down with a cup of tea and some cake samples in different flavours. We will design your cake and decide on flavours. I then email out an accurate quote, usually within a couple of days of this meeting. I will keep a provisional booking in my diary until a week, after you have received your quote. To confirm a booking, I require a 25% non refundable booking fee, with your balance then payable 1 month before the wedding.
