What is your most memorable wedding?
My little sisters in July 2018, my most stressful to date but worth it! I was one of five bridesmaids that I had to do makeup for plus my sister, who'd had an allergic reaction the day before, so her eyes were puffy but with the help of my makeup skills you'd never guess from the photos!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classic, timeless, beautiful but with a personal twist.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Being able to make brides feel amazing on their special day and being published.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Book your favourite vendors early! Some wedding vendors start booking out 2 years or more in advance, so if you find one you know you have to have put your deposit and sign the contract ASAP.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love it when couples include their fur babies in their wedding day!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I'd get an email enquiry, reply either arranging a meeting or when your trial will take place, ask you to do some homework of finding 3 looks you love and 3 you hate and why, do your trial (they generally take about 2hrs) with nibbles and a cup of tea (or a cheeky prosecco!) where we design a look that is totally you, noting all the products used down, taking reference photos, I then purchase the lip colour we decided on as part of your touch up kit. If you need reassurance or have questions from your first enquiry until your wedding day and beyond I'm happy to answer them to put you at ease for your wedding day. Then on the wedding day I turn up make you and your bridal party look even more beautiful whilst keeping you calm by helping out wherever I can, be that shoes, jewellery, garters, dresses and more until you leave the room to go say your I Do's.
What do you love most about your job?
The wow moment when the bride sees it all come together, as she's only seen bits separately up until this point. There's something magical about seeing the makeup, the hair, the accessories and THE dress all together. It's showing people that everyone is beautiful in their own way and seeing the change in their confidence levels.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Get your skincare routine sorted 2 to 3 months before your wedding, this gives it chance to settle before your wedding, including any peels or microdermabrasion if needed. Plus always drink enough water. I can help you with skincare advice, which is why I always suggest the trial 6-12 weeks before your wedding, so we can get your skin in the best condition to help the makeup sit better and use less!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
A good facial massage and always being there as a extra pair of hands to help out with anything!
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Dab your under eye when those tears (of joy hopefully!) start to fall.
