As a freelance Bridal Make-up Artist, my passion is to make you and your bridal party look feel gorgeous on your special day. Using only high quality products, including MAC, Airbase (Airbrush), Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury and Laura Mercier, among others, and ensuring to perfect your skin base , your makeup will be long lasting, flawless and beautiful. Having a professional makeup artist perfect your chosen look on your wedding day will enhance your wedding photographs, make you and your bridal party feel incredibly special, plus leave you care-free to enjoy the best day of your life. I'm a member of the Beauty Guild of Beauty Therapists, in addition to being a MAC Pro Artist. Following confirmation of your wedding date, we will arrange a bridal consultation (unlimited in time), to discuss your requirements, theme, wedding dress and style. This is imperative, as we trial products, looks and test the longevity of products on your skin. Once you're completely happy with your wedding day look, we will create a schedule for makeup to fit in around your venue timings and hair stylist on the day. Katie did the make up for myself and my four bridesmaids at our wedding in August; she was absolutely superb. From the first time we met Katie at the trial, she made us feel relaxed and I knew she was the one I wanted to do my make up on my wedding day. She couldn’t have done enough for us; nothing was too much trouble. She spent time to make sure the make up was exactly as we wanted; she has such an eye for the detail and is a true talent. Katie had such a calming personality on the day of the wedding; she was punctual, fun and lovely to chat to whilst we were getting ready. Where to start....well for anyone looking for a make-up artist, I would highly recommend Katie. She is honestly fantastic at what she does, and will really work with you to ensure your look is perfect. I had sent her a variety of Pinterest ideas which she easily managed to replicate, but was also amazing at making sure the make-up wasn't too over the top and that it suited my skin tone. What is your most memorable wedding?

A gorgeous country wedding in Cornwall! The bride and bridesmaids opted for natural, dewy styles and all looked beautiful.

My ability to make brides feel at ease, comfortable and at their very best on their most important day.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Stay calm and enjoy the experience and memory making! Remember that this is your day and the most important thing is that you are both present to express your love. Everything else is a bonus.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The husband giving his speech for the second time in Norweigan for his wife’s family!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I’ll check dates, timings and locations of the ceremony and preparation venue, to check whether timings are OK and to assess whether an assistant MUA is necessary. I’ll then discuss individual requirements with the bride and groom, preferred styles, past experiences with makeup and agree a trial date. At the trial I’ll spend between 2-4 hours with the bride to test products, looks, agree the schedule for the big day and discuss all options. On the wedding day itself I’ll turn up with my kit, make sure everyone is calm and relaxed and prepare the bridal party for the special day ahead!

What do you love most about your job?

Getting to know each bride and being involved in their most treasured day.

What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?

Drink plenty of water in the lead up to the wedding and have any facial waxing around 10 days prior to the wedding. I’d also avoid the use of facials in the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding day.

How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?

Lots of chatting and giggling.

What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?

Remember to use blotting paper to soak up any excess oil and to reapply lipstick throughout the day. Remove any excess lipstick on the lips by blotting with a tissue before eating/drinking. Try not to touch your makeup too much or wipe your eyes (dab any tears with a tissue in the inner or outer corners)!
