What is your most memorable wedding?
It’s got to be my lovely bride Hannah’s wedding in the South of France. It was such an amazing venue and the atmosphere was incredible. It was one of my first ‘location’ weddings that wasn’t in the UK and I really enjoyed the whole experience.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Professional, Experienced, Visual, Technical and Artistic
What about your business are you most proud of?
I’m the most proud of my team. They really are the backbone of my business and they work really hard at their skill set and are constantly attuned to our clients every needs.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make the planning fun! We all know that planning a wedding can be super stressful, it can be easy to forget to enjoy the journey.
Do lots of things to ensure that the planning becomes a celebration and not a chore. For example; if you have a makeup and hair trial, go and join the girls afterwards for some bubbly or an afternoon tea.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I remember one of my brides receiving a gift from her sister who was a maid of honour.
The gift was 2 lockets with photos of their late grandparents inside. They were attached to a chain which were tied around her bouquet. She said “this way they could be with her to support her special day”. Least to say I was in tears and it was such a touching moment for me. It was such a beautiful thought.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Typically we will start with a quotation for their day to ensure we have all the correct
information on what services they require.
We then take a small deposit to secure their wedding date in the diary. This will then be confirmed in an invoice sent to the corresponding email address.
Any trials can then be booked. We recommend no more than 3 months before, to keep the look fresh in mind.
We discuss ‘the look’ during the trial at the salon and create a bespoke look for our brides and bridal parties.
Wedding day! We travel to our brides venue of choice at an agreed start time to begin with the services booked. We will then finish at an agreed finish time.
What do you love most about your job?
It’s got to be how we make women feel. There is nothing more rewarding than making someone feel confident. Seeing the smiles and being a part of something so special. Creating wonderful memories that will be remembered in years to come.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Always carry a lipstick! This is one of the only things that will wear during your day from eating, drinking, kissing etc.
We will recommend a specific shade and brand during the trial to ensure you have one to hand on the day.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
Start early - We always ensure the bride and bridal party are ready at least 40 minutes prior to their ceremony time. This gives the bridal party chance to get dressed, have photos and last minute touch ups before it’s time to go. There’s nothing worse than feeling rushed. A calming massage - We massage all of our skincare into the skin using specific techniques to enhance relaxation. This is done prior to makeup application. Offer any help - We will do whatever we can to help on the wedding morning to ensure your morning remains stress free. We’ve moved items to different rooms, enquired with staff on the brides behalf, helped bridesmaids into dresses etc. Stick to the schedule- We keep a record of our timings throughout the day to ensure everyone is seen at the relevant times for their service to start. Positivity- the great thing about all of us is our welcoming and friendly personalities. We will always be a constant smiley face on your wedding morning. We are all extremely positive people who are very good at keeping the mood on a high.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Ensure you have supplies- lipstick, powder, hairspray, hair pins etc. We all do our very best to keep your hair and makeup looking 100% throughout the day. However, sometimes things can interfere with our work no matter what we do. Things such as the weather can impact how your hair and makeup lasts. Having a bag of just a few supplies should you need to perfect a loose strand of hair or smudged lip colour.
