The Apollonion palace hotel is housed in a neoclassical preserved building of the 19th century, which was restored from the ground up in 2009 in a complete restoration of its original architectural form. It is built on five levels, with its foundations in the sea. It dominates the bay of Agios Nikolaos in the "Vaporia" area, with the main entrance from the prestigious Apollonos street. It is located a few meters from the imposing Church of Agios Nikolaos, patron and patron of Hermoupolis, the Apollo Theater and the famous work of Ziller, Ermoupolis Town Hall.
In the last century it was the residence of prominent Syrians, while in 1996 it was bought by Captain E.N. Emmanuel Halaris, owner of "Halaris Hotels SA", who spared no effort and expense to give Ermoupolis the only 5-star Hotel, something that was lacking from the island, since the demolition of the "France Hotel" in Miaouli Square, where King Othon used to visit.
The magnificent terrace on the eastern side of the building, suitable for weddings, receptions, ouzo and drinking in the moonlight, as well as the smaller terrace with access to the sea for swimming, give the feeling of absolute relaxation.
The aesthetics of the building is based on the neoclassical character of Ermoupolis. The interior and decoration architect Ms. Penelope Aslanoglou, who took care of the decoration and study of the hotel, made sure that the interior decoration was done in soft, romantic colors with elements that exude the old glamor of the mansion houses.
