Located in the stunning Sierra Nevada Foothills and the center of downtown Grass Valley, this California Historical Landmark Hotel is your all-in-one destination for weddings and events. With 28 beautifully appointed guest rooms (including two stunning suites), an on-site restaurant, two separate bars and communal areas mean you and your guests rarely need to leave the property.
Meticulously renovated in 2020, the Holbrooke offers four event spaces for weddings, social events and meetings. From the intimate lawn of the Purcell House to stately North Star Hall, each space can be uniquely tailored to your needs. Our Event Manager is happy to help coordinate your schedule with all necessary menus and rentals for your occasion.
GROUP ROOM BLOCKS
All your group needs in one place! Your event manager is happy to arrange a block of rooms for your guests. The Holbrooke Hotel main building offers 17 rooms, including two stunning suites. The Purcell House, a beautifully appointed carriage house dating back to 1871, offers 11 unique rooms, three of which can adjoin to accommodate families.
NORTH STAR HALL
With original exposed brick and soaring ceilings, this is the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner or wedding celebration for up to 150 guests. North Star Hall can also be divided to host smaller groups for more intimate social or business gatherings up to 50 guests.

- JJake Metz17/02/2024It was the perfect venue for our wedding It was the perfect venue for our weddingWe booked the king suite for our wedding stay and hosted our wedding weekend events (a pre-wedding meet and greet and a post-wedding farewell brunch). The staff was absolutely amazing! The king suite is stunning. It was the perfect venue for my wife and the ladies in our wedding to get ready. The photos are incredible! The day after our wedding we hosted a farewell brunch in the North Star room and it was incredible. Our friends can't stop talking about the sourdough pancakes! We booked the king suite for our wedding stay and hosted our wedding weekend events (a pre-wedding meet and greet and a post-wedding farewell brunch). The staff was absolutely amazing! We stayed at the Holbrooke for three nights around our wedding near Grass Valley, and held both our rehearsal dinner and Sunday send-off brunch in the hotel’s banquet hall. We were so well taken care of by everyone at the Holbrooke—they made us feel like we, our wedding party, and our guests, were the only people there! My experience has always been top notch. The Holbrooke is a beautiful location for weddings and Sonya is very professional and easy to work with. If you are looking for a destination wedding in Gold Country look no further this historic hotel is a great intimate wedding location.As a Wedding Professional in Grass Valley I have had the pleasure to work with the Holbrooke and Sonya. A beautiful historic building with a mix of upscale and vintage decor, and a big splash of Christmas. Most of the staff were very friendly throughout the weekend. Room was cozy and spacious, though I must warn you….if you are in the room at the top of the stairs…be sure your door latches *all the way* shut. Kudos to offering the scones at the coffee cart—super yummy! Would definitely stay here again if I’m in town.We stayed at this lovely property for a wedding that was hosted on-site. All my guests all loved it! The Holbrooke was the perfect place to show off our beautiful town of Grass Valley. think the best part was that my guests kept meeting each other by coincidence in the hotel bar and restaurant and it was a great way for everyone to get to know each other. Another note is that every staff member was very helpful, professional and kind: from my initial emails exchanges.My family and friends stayed at the Holbrooke for my wedding and the Holbrooke was fabulous! All my guests all loved it!
