With its unbeatable views of downtown Durham, the Roof is our most desired space. There are three flexible areas providing guests a truly memorable experience – the open-air “patio,” covered seating (can be enclosed and heated), and our indoor bar. An event on the Roof is like no other and includes use of our bespoke furniture including saddle leather chairs, solid wood tables, and custom soft seating furniture.
Capacity: 50 seated, 125 reception style
Perfect for: Daytime ceremonies and receptions, showers, and brunch.
Restaurant Buy-Out
The Restaurant at The Durham – with its stunning two-story windows, custom geometric carpet inspired by Anni Albers, chandeliers designed by Robert Lewis, mural by Chapel Hill artist Antoine Williams, patio perched above a cobblestone alley, and original curvilinear mezzanine balcony overlooking the space – is a beautiful space for the most important of celebrations.

I was here for a friend’s wedding and reception and it was an ideal venue. Wedding on the rooftop overlooking the city and reception in the restaurant area. Wonderful hotel in downtown Durham. John and his team were great every step of the way leading up to the event, even helping us secure some rooms in advance. The menu at the rooftop was exquisite, everybody was very happy with the venue and the food. The location in downtown Durham is perfect, and their Cafe and pastries in the lobby are delicious. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. We enjoyed having our event there.Celebrated our wedding on the rooftop at The Durham Hotel. - AAli07/02/2024The rooftop bar is really nice The rooftop bar is really niceI didn't stay at this hotel but attended a wedding here. The rooftop bar is really nice with a beautiful view. The staff that served cocktails and dinner to the guest were extremely nice and helpful. The man who I assumed is the restaurant manager was extremely helpful and I was quite impressed. The wedding i attended had a vegan menu, the only vegetable my 7 year old eats is French fries. He was coming around to the tables asking if everything was okay when he observed my family .I didn't stay at this hotel but attended a wedding here. The rooftop bar is really nice with a beautiful view. The staff that served cocktails and dinner to the guest were extremely nice and helpful. Not only are the rooms beautiful for guests to stay, but the rooftop is fantastic for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours with a view of Downtown Durham. The first floor restaurant is great for hosting a wedding reception, and the first floor outdoor patio is a lovely way to get fresh air without leaving the hotel. We love recommending The Durham Hotel for intimate weddings. it's such a great venue for intimate weddings!
