The Tithe Barn is a rustic setting that offers a little bit more. Overlooking the Bolton Abbey Priory ruins, the property carries a distinct atmosphere of a time gone by. Guests will be enthralled by the hooped copper lanterns, ancient beams, and fine aged flagstone throughout the majestic venue. Licensed to hold ceremonies, you can host your entire day in one inspiring place with ample areas to explore and embrace. The barn features huge, medieval chandeliers embellished with cut glass that refracts candlelight across the room. Here, up to 200 guests can watch as you start a new chapter before breaking out into the outdoor terrace. This open space includes fire pits and plenty of seating for post-ceremony drinks. After, the barn is transformed into an intimate dining hall, accentuated by uplights and fairy lights woven through the beams. The contemporary kitchen faces out onto the dining room, allowing guests to watch the talented chefs work their magic. Once the feast is over, the space is opened up for a further 100 guests, allowing you to dance the night away with all your nearest and dearest.
The on-site Tithe Barn team will be on-hand to help with everything, from the big ideas to the last minute details. They are happy to provide referrals to respected suppliers nearby to meet all transportation, floral, and prop needs. A variety of in-house decor is also available, including floor-standing candelabras, lanterns, and flickering candles. The chefs are the signature element of the venue experience, offering flame-grilled food on a huge BBQ display and French rotisseries. The online wedding brochure has a full list of the incredible cuisine they produce, which you can peruse at your pleasure. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are all available. Every dish is further enhanced by in-house wine buyers who select only the finest artisan labels from Europe.

The best? Impossible! Our venue is such a blank canvas that every wedding is unique, personal, fun and we have loved them all!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Ask questions! We are always around to answer the quickest of questions, the longest chain of questions, the amazingly bizarre questions, and the most obvious, mundane or confusing questions - but we know that every question answered reassures the couple immensely; so never be afraid to ask, ask, ask away!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We love the 'find your face to find your place' seating plan - the couples must take ages gathering photos of all the guests, and it reminds the guests of times spent with the happy couple.

What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our food! Our formula is “Buy the best, cook it simply, serve it generously”. We like to make our food dramatic as well as delicious, so there’s an 8-spit rotisserie visible through a glass screen from the Dining Room, and large mobile BBQ which can be moved in and out of sight as appropriate. Our food is served 'feast-style' on boards and in bowls to the centre of the table for guests to just dig into! Yum!
