Description

The Tall Ship Glenlee, at Riverside - a unique venue for any special occasion that you and your guests will never forget. Built in 1896, Glenlee is the only steel square-rigged cargo vessel remaining in the whole of the UK, and one of just five such Clyde built vessels remaining in the world. The Tall Ship offers a unique combination of 19th century charm with modern facilities, perfect for weddings, conferences and banqueting. The atmospheric surroundings evoke dramatic images of a life at sea. Enjoy the unique riverside setting (flood lit in the evening ), before going below deck to dine or entertain. The Tall Ship can accommodate up to 150 people for dining and up to 200 for a reception. The space is very flexible and allows organisers to use imagination and flair to 'wow' their guests. Guests can browse the onboard exhibits or enjoy the riverside sunset from the main deck.

Best day of our life!
Hi Lauren, Thank you so much, it was honestly an amazing day and we are so grateful to yourself and all the staff at the Tall Ship for the organisational efforts that you put in to help give us the best day of our life! Can I just add my thanks to the message Clare sent. We had an absolutely fabulous day. It was all we could have wanted. You and the rest of the Tall Ship crew were fantastic. A lot of the guests mentioned to me how beautiful the venue was, but also how good the staff were.

Fantastic venue
We're fresh from our wedding reception at the Glenlee, and I have nothing but good things to say about the venue! We opted for an evening only celebration, with approximately 80 guests. The venue was just the right size for them and a good Strip the Willow space, I think more than 80 would have started to struggle for dancing space. The staff were all so helpful, they were ready to switch things up at a moments notice when we had a supplier issue and remained so calm and collected through the night. The venue is so unique, and very heavily complimented. Everyone loved it.

Heartily recommended
Well worth a visit. The ship is a very interesting museum in its own right. Well preserved, well laid out and with very informative information boards. Its free to get in and is equipped with ramps and a lift. As I am disabled I found it very refreshing that an effort has been made to make this attraction accessible to everyone.

Floating Historical Museum.
The Glenlee , a former Victorian merchant barque , was built in Port Glasgow & launched in 1896. Over the century other owners renamed her, and she’s also been “Islamount”, “Clarastella” , & “ Galatea” as a sail training vessel in the Spanish navy. She’s since been lovingly restored, and fitted out as a museum ship since 1993. This is a wonderful maritime attraction to have moored beside the Clyde, and it’s fabulous that us landlubbers get to explore a proper tall ship, and see how life was for
